Does it allow you to dress nice?
>>
Customer service, allows me to dress however I want because I'm on phone all day behind a desk. I never dress up for work though.

Lab tech, I suppose. To bad the job sucks.
>>
>>11210178
That sounds like an interesting job. Did you have to study for it?
>>
Math teacher (university-level)

I can dress how I want, but I hate how chalk gets everywhere.
>>
P A R A L E G A L
>>
>>11210225
haha, i am in the same position. it's all about bringing a wet hankey to class for hand wiping and also getting a nice effay chalk holder.

are you a student too or just teaching? what kinda math do you like? combinatorics for me
>>
>>11210154

Freelance 3D artist.

I stay at home all day in my underwear and wear my good clothes when I go out to get groceries.
kill me
How tryhard is it to work inside a coffee shop? Working inside my room all the time is making me feel like a basement dweller.
>>
>>11210278
it's not, but i would feel uncomfortable. you see, i'm not good with caffeine and considering that i generally have a lot of insecurities and shaky hands being in such a vulnerable position would make me sweat and feel really exposed. for everytime i hit the keyboard i would become more and more tense.

i think i would prefer to work from home

meh literally half the people there are working, don't sweat it

sitting at home working all day used to drive me crazy too, working somewhere outside on a sunny day with some good coffee is real nice
>>
I make glasses

It's cool. I can dress casual but not too casual. I have to wear the company shirt but pretty much any pants and shoes are fine
>>

I wear heavy fabric like canvas and denim as much as possible to keep the super toxic chemicals off of my skin
>>
>>11210154
I work two jobs. I'm a cook and a cook.

First place I basically run shit, boss let's us wear whatever, it's all very casual.

Second place is trendy and "gourmet" so its all black and a chef coat on top.
>>

>>11210273

People still use chalk + blackboards?
What country are y'all from? I thought everyone moved onto either, smartboards or whiteboards by now.
>>
>>11210174
i've been curious. how'd you first get into that?

>>11210154
i work for ross so no. i dress like shit at work and in general tbqh
>>
>>11210494
I got scouted on the street.

If youve got what it takes you could always drop by an agency. Most agencies have open call days like eevery week.
>>
>>11210473
canadian here
most classrooms use chalk

Thanks, the weather is getting pretty nice so I need to get myself a laptop and get my ass out there.

I'm actually worried more about efficiency of working on a small laptop instead of my workstation, but just doing this for a couple of hours a week would make me feel less like an outcast.
>>
Fashion Design student, graduate in 3 months and hoping land a job in either creative direction (starting as assistant of course) or maybe go academic.
First option would mean I have to dress more or less like the brand, second means slim suits all day erryday
My uni is not strict at all regarding looks so I tend to go for regular urban heroin chic during days and full blown rich junkie faggot for events
>>
>>11210273
I am a PhD student who teaches classes for a stipend. I like number theory, but my research is currently in nonlinear PDEs (which I like as well).

>getting a nice effay chalk holder.
I should look into this. The steel ones look nice.

>>11210473
You'd be surprised. Even in top-tier American universities, there still might be some outdated classrooms that use chalkboards. Plus, you have some math "purists" who like them better for some reason. I don't; I prefer whiteboards myself.
>>
>>11210278
I like working in coffee shops. It's not tryhard at all.
>>
>>11210154
Rich trustfund NEET.

I dress pretty dadcore but with somewhat higher-end pieces because hypebeasts are annoying.
>>
>>11210473
dude it is so much better. markers just smudge, smell nasty, are harder to hold. chalk is an aesthetic experience. much better for mathematics.
>>
>>11210548
>mfw my professor lacks fingerprints due to 20+ years of using chalkboards
>>
>>11210570
How does this happen?

I do see some people who seem to care less about the dust than others. For me, I can't stand to have it on my hands, but others seem to just brush it off (not even wash) and go on their day.
>>
I'm a fashion designer so yep lol
>>
>>11210342
What do you mean? Are you a machinist or something?
>>
>>11210530
i need to see these looks
>>
>>11210154
I'm a financial analyst at a real estate private equity firm.

I can't really dress /fa/ at work cause my office is pretty conservative, but I'm 22 and I bring home $1,115 a week after taxes, so I have quite a bit of disposable income.

I also get an annual bonus of $16-22k.

I make more than most, but not as much as some. Im pretty happy that I'll be making $100k this year, though. Still pretty young and have a lot of room to grow.
>>
>>11210899
good for you anon proud
>>
work part time in an art gallery where I wear all black, the only thing more effay than my job is an actual job in the fashion industry
>>
>>11210899
what did you major in and where did you graduate from?
>>
>>11210965
doing what
>>
>>11210989
I'm an invigilator, so I just talk to people about the exhibitions and tell them about the artists work. I was being facetious when I said it's effay - it's quite tedious at times. With that being said though I do enjoy it, you get to engage with people about something you're both passionate about and it allows me to spend lots of time with priceless works of art. I pick up on the little details simply from extended exposure - a luxury not many people have and something I am grateful for.
>>
>>11210979
I majored in Finance and graduated from a non-target private school that offered an Alternative Investments concentration for Finance majors.

My University was ranked 50-60th overall, but our Finance program was ranked top 20.
>>
Any-any union senpai here
>>
is the navy effay
>>
>>11211145
Fuck off you socialist faggot

I'll bet you sit on your fucking ass all day doing jack shit. You might even literally drink beer on the job. I'm from New York, and I know what kind of cancer you quasi-fascist fucks are. You sit around doing fuckin nothing all day, then you threaten and intimidate private workers who actually earn what they have.

Youre literally scum of the earth. Kill yourself. If I had it my way, your faggot ass fuckin union would be made illegal and you'd get what you deserve: $15/hour with shitty benefits and no pension.

Fuck you.
>>
>>11211196
Pensions are dead man...nobody gets a pension anymore except teachers. And honestly I didn't have a choice to opt out of the union, because the entire facility I'm working in its entirely union. Having worked my entire career in a place where employees are horrifically mistreated and put in dangerous situations on a frequent basis, this union contract stuff is a nice change. But I'm used to working hard so I'm kinda having trouble adjusting to the whiny co-workers who refer to the contract like it's their bible; if it all falls apart I'll be more than happy to keep working, for now it's like a vacation
>>
>>11210548
Bryce?
>>
>>11211220
Well, at least you recognize the waste and abuse that is a result of unionization. I can't hate on you as much as I hate the faggots who relish in their vacation-jobs and post snapchats of themselves with their feet up drinking bud lights while getting paid $40 an hour (I have friends in New York who literally do this).

I still hate unions and think they're cancer, but at least youre grounded and aren't one of those faggots who thinks he actually deserves what is given to him by Mama Union
>>
>>11210154
Cleaner at a gym, minimum wage but I get a free gym membership. So where I don't dress nicely my body makes up for it when I wear walmart tank tops
>>
Uni student usually, but otherwise I do industrial goods deliveries to warehouses and shit. No strict dress code beyond having to wear jeans and a shirt that you don't mind getting industrial grease or other shit on. It's a nice job. I get to drive in my truck most of the day and listen to podcasts.
>>
>>11211240
Yeah fuck that shit even yesterday by boss flipped out when I "technically" violated the contract by doing more than is expected of me. I'm not gonna sit on my ass while I'm on the clock and argue over stupid principles; I'm there to work
For 32 an hour with night, weekend, and "long shift" differentials, $6/hr call time, tons of overtime, and crazy benefits, anyway

>>
>>11211145
I am. Hate it soo much. I work part time and all they do is make me work hours I don't want and take my cash. Maybe if I was a full time person who depends on the benefits itd be cool, but I'm not and it's the worst thing ever. I've never even gone to a union meeting
>>
I'm a server, what a glorious fucking life..

At least I can dress as I like since it's contemporary art themed.
>>
>>11211036
what kind of qualifications do you need for a job like that
>>
I'm a server at a club. Black button down shirt, black slacks, Black belt (YEAH MOTHERFUCKER I'LL BEAT YOUR ASS) and Black professional dress shoes with anti-slip soles.
