Usually rubber soled shoes are made by cementing the sole on which usually fails first and the sole separates from the shoe. Aside from jerry-rigging, it's unrepairable. A mechanically attached ie. a stitched-on sole stays on the shoe and can be replaced.
I just noticed that they have the almost same shoe with rubber sole as well so it's a matter of preference. If you wear them a lot outside i'd take the rubber soles.

Bear in mind you can also buy slip-on rubber overshoes for bad weather and have the best of both worlds. I can't go back to rubber soles, the comfort of all leather shoes has spoiled me.

Aesthetically speaking you won't notice them

I don't do shoes, only boots. Cheapest boots I've got, apart from workboots, are my AE Daltons. So I'm going to say off of the price alone? Yes, they're shit.

I never found AE to be overly expensive for what they're offering.

My favourite pair right there. Love 'm. But I'm still getting an outfit together to wear with them regularly.

I also know those are not oxfords.
