Fuck cheap clothes just save up for an slp one dude. You can easily wear it with a cheap tee, some thrifted jeans and a pair of converse or something.
Outerwear is the thing that lasts the longest so you should invest in quality

and yeah you're right, but since hedi is leaving, i think by the time i'd have that kind of money, i fear a jacket would be even more expensive than it is now.

i like rick's jackets a lot, too, and there are some i think are compatible with the aesthetic/surprisingly versatile, but i hate the blistered/beaten leather look

I got pic related, after looking through tons of jackets both online and in stores. Had a belstaff store nearby and tried it on. Was perfect since I looked for a sleek cafe racer without any crazy zippers and pockets like most jackets these days. Expensive af but worth it. Thick lamb leather, very nice quality and great slim cut. (these models in the pics are nearly always cake eaters, so they're not representative)

I would recommend to anyone: you HAVE TO try it on before. there's no other way to know if it fits you. with leather jackets, fit is the absolutely most important thing, especially around the shoulders. look for thick but soft leather and try to stay away from cheap jackets with 'polished' or 'corrected grain'.

while it is true that you can't get a good quality leather under a certain price point, that point varies greatly between brands. quality and treatment of leather and cut of the jacket drives the price up. anything that costs over 1000 to 1500 is a rip off and you only pay for the brand name. but in all honestly a shitty pleather jacket that fits you well will look miles better than a high end jacket that looks like a soggy robe on your shoulders. my last tip would be: think long term. consider going for a clean style with a higher longevity style-wise, instead of some heroin-shooting rock star look with tons of diagonal zippers, pockets and sewn patterns. they may look good on pictures, but in reality these jackets will only embarrass you in public.

For the price you pay I have absolutely zero complaints, and I'm on a budget so this was really big for me.
