ive never struck gold inside a thrift shop but once i was walking out of one and i saw your mother standing by the bus stop dressed like a prostitute, i proceeded to take her home and fuck her so hard her hair turned gray. that might just be the best thrifting experience ive ever had.

My gf just copped 2 pairs of acne jeans for $20/piece and they were both in great condition. One looked like it was never worn.

As a poorfag thrifting is everything to me I thift constantly. Iv'e found lots of shit like bape, naked&famous, vintage ralph jackets/sweaters, Y-3/versace polos. I thrifted a barley broken in pair of black clarks desert boots once and the same day my friend thrifted a dip die raf sweater.

My advice on thrifting?
-know what day your store restocks its shit so you can swoop in and pick it clean.

-never look for anything in particular and memorize what tags look like, that way when something catches your eye you'll know what is immediately. I passed on a maison margiela shirt once because I forgot what the tags looked like. (kill me)

-learn to settle when it comes to buying items as well as passing on them. You may not like everything about a jacket like say a logo or the condition but you're buying second hand, don't be afraid to sew some holes or get some jeans hemmed at a tailor.

-the best advice I can give is know when to quit. If a store looks picked clean it probably is, don't waste your time.

The only thrift stores in my area are the big chain ones (goodwill, salvation army etc) and all the stuff they stock is pretty shit normiecore stuff.
>>
>>11115698
i see polo ralph lauren, brooks brothers and j.crew stuff all the time at the thrift store i frequent. unfortunately, i'm 6'5 and skinny so most stuff doesn't fit me. i've bought an oversized merino sweater, oversized j.crew flannel and some jeans there, though. those are probably my best finds.

Worst place is usually the trendy parts of whatever city in my experience.

I'm a graphic tee wearing autist, so thrift store are great for me. Copped like a 1/3 to 1/2 of my shirts from thrift stores, as well as my current jacket (90's looking tall Eddie Bauer). In my personal experience, any Canadian tourist t-shirt (like pic related) is great.

It's very hard to find good pants or shoes though.
>>
>>11115698
I found an 80s Levis denim jacket a few months back for $5. It looks virtually unworn.

On the subject of gold though

>grandmother was paranoid about burglars
>didn't trust safes and thought hiding things would work better
>she hid gold and diamonds in her old clothes for decades
>she passed away 4 years ago
>grandfather never knew about her gold hiding
>he got all the old clothes with all the gold and diamonds and gave them to charity
>family members that knew about the gold hiding shit a collective brick
>>
I only found good stuff at thrift stores that know their shit and charge hundreds of dollars.
>>
Found a vetements hoodie once and flipped it right quick. Got basically retail for it.

Also a Levi's X Pendleton collab that I found for $20 and sold for $250

Some CPs that didn't end up fitting

An Alexander wang hoodie I don't wear anymore

Basically I flipped my way to having a fairly good Rick Owens collection off of thrift finds.

I've found a very clean pair of Clarks Desert Boots in my size and in perfect condition.

I found some women's Comme des Garçons X converse that I flipped for some cash.

I always find Jordan's. If they are in my size and in nice condition I might keep them, but most of the time if they are nice condition I will flip them.

I am a record collector, so lots of times I will buy cool vinyl records at thrift stores, I have found Black Holes & Revelations by Muse, and my personal favorite, Good Kid, m.A.A.d City (the deluxe edition on vinyl). It was a super cool find and I personally consider it gold.

I have found a few other things but idk if they are worth mention or not.
>>
Copped a cream London Fog harrington today. Not particularly rare but the fit and colour are amazing. $5 too.

In the past
- navy PRL long sleeve cord shirt
- North Face summit series zip hoodie (was like new)
- pair of barely worn Nudies
- couple pairs of great condition Levis in my size
- Carhartt jacket + beanie
- lots of new Adidas/Nike activewear which I use for the gym (funnily enough, I find most of them a month or so after the new year)
- nice vintage tees on the regular (mainly sports related)

I used to think I did ok until I read some of the finds here. Where the fuck

Dude all of those brands iv'e mentioned have been around for a while. Bape started in 1993 and naked and famous has been around for like 9 years. Also normal people who spend money on nice clothes would rather donate than resell their shit. They probably wouldn't know how too anyway. (or at least well)

>>11119944
I didn't buy it because I didn't like it and I thought it was shitty, I wouldn't of worn it if it was MM, I wanted it for the resell. Also don't assume I shop for brands exclusively, Some of my sickest pieces are no-name as fuck. My grandfather's Hawaiian/camp shirts and vintage hats are like my favorite style.

>>
>>11120468
this, i've been to well over 15 thrift shops and all that they're full of is shitty fucking maerican stoner core shit, like american university sweaters and hoodies. oh and levis 501s. they fucking blow and it sucks because american thrift stores look so fucking good

I found a Dior button up once. apparently old Dior and YSL pieces are relatively common at thrift stores
>>

Depends entirely on the area. The shops in the posh young professional area of my town always have quality stuff, especially if you're into Paul Smith, Ted Baker and Jigsaw.

I worked in donations in a thrift store straight out of high school

I got first pick of any clothes that came through, then the store manager said they had to be on the shelves for at least 3 days before we could buy them, so I just started stealing stuff.

I also found all kinds of stuff hidden in books, like money stashes and homemade nude photos.
>>
I have found so many good items that it's ridiculous

A few Loro Piana blazers (not my size of course)
A few Ralph Lauren jackets, some leather
Two really nice leather jackets: one a ranch, the other a bomber
A few RRL pieces such as a black western shirt and a tweed wool vest
Gant/Rugger, Rag & Bone, Steven Alan, and Brooks Brothers apparrel
A brand new pair of Crockett & Jones derbies
A lot of J. Crew garments that I have become too much of a snob to wear anymore

I doubt anyone would care, but I can take and post pictures of said cops if requested
