You can tell that some of the guys are working on low budgets (thus the plants [practically free decor] and Jerry rigged furniture)
I got inspired by one of the pics in MFL, which is an archived thread
Dude used milsurp Pelican cases and footlockers for storage/decor
Definitely thinking of doing that

There she was, the Rebel Flagship. A monstrosity of a ship, Sid to be built from the wreckage of hundreds of destroyed Federation fighter ships. The rumor seemed to be true, as the chipping orange and blue paint barely covered long pipes and tubes painted white, the federation color. It’s power levels were off the charts, with a reactor core was bigger than our entire ship, yet we were here to kill it. As soon as we powered up our weapons, the ship went into cloaking.
“Anderson, engage our cloaking!” I shouted through my microphone, hoping to counter their stealth weapons with disguise.
“Engaging cloak in three…” A garbled voice replied.
“Two…” I could see through the starry haze that their weapons began to enter their final firing stage. If they landed a hit on Anderson’s room, we’d be done for!
“One…” A three shield piercing missiles leaped from the flagship. They flew towards our cloaking room, and towards our only hope of winning.
“Engaged!” I felt the lights dim, and all the power surge into the cockpit. I turned a hard right, barely evading all three missiles. The flagship re-appeared, it’s weapons delayed by their inability to lock on to a solid target. I diverted more power to our weapons, our laser beam almost fully charged. We’d need to get through the shield barriers before we could land a clean hit on their weapons.
“Zas, send our hacking drone onto their shields. Rob, send me the layout plans from the sensor room.”
“Yes, captain”.
Zas engaged the hack drone, and fired the capsule at the flagships shields.
A small beeping sound came from the console dash, informing that our missiles were ready to fire.
“Engage, the missiles!” I shouted, and felt the small kick as twin shield-piercing missiles fired from our right side. They made contact with the shield room, and once it had been weakened Zas, engaged the hack drone. Their shields were down and out, at least for now.
Rob, I need those layouts! Now!”A small map of the Rebel Flagship popped up onto my console. Their weapons were spread apart, not powered in one room like the others. Crap. I’d need to target their missile room, and their defense room with the beam. I drew a line across the ship where I needed the damage dealt, and sent that over to weapons. Ralath, our Lanius, responded over the mic.
“Firing the laser beam!”
A beam of glowing light energy ripped across their hull, tearing through their missiles room and shields sector. I silently celebrated, but I wasn’t done yet…
Stupidly, I hadn’t noticed our cloaking go out. All weapons fired at once from the flagship, a massive amount of ammunition flying though space, directly at our ship. Bullets collided with our shields, taking them down almost instantly. Heavy lasers smashed into our cloaking room, and a heavy laser beam ripped a breach into the weapons systems. Thank god our Lanius was in there. However, our glaive beam was out of action for now.
“Anderson, come in! I need you to stay on cloaking!”
Silence.
“Anderson! Anderson, come in!”
Silence. A quick scan of life forms showed that only myself, Zas, Ralath and Rob survived.
“Okay, Zas, I need you in weapons. Rob, get to cloaking, I don’t care if we lose visuals on the ship. Ralath, get out of weapons once the breach is fixed.
“Ralath, get down to piloting! You know well enough how to work the systems!”
I ran down into the sensor room, and got to work on clearing up the small fire that had started inside. After I’d put that out, I checked the hull status of our ship, and theirs. We were low, but so were they.
“Okay, change of plan! Everyone to weapons except Ralath!” I shouted into the comms.
When I got there, everyone was already working hard on repairing the systems. Digging through the electrical wires, I finally got our missile lancer back online.
“Engage the drones!”
“Drones are down, sir!”
I’d have to risk it.
“Fire Missiles!”
Two streaking missiles pierced the shields, and collided with their damaged hull. Bursts of fire exploded from the great flagship, as massive pieces of their hull broke off into space. There was a burst of light as their emergency FTL drive engaged, and they jumped away.
“We got them…! For now.”
They’d be back.
