DIY general. Dyes, rips, patches, any cool custom shit you're doing to your clothes

Anyone have that bleach chart an anon made from the last thread?
>>
Just wish it was like the old days when people actually do innovative shit instead of just ripping dying and patching. I guess we can't have it all though
>>
>>10960756
Like what? Please explain.
>>
>>10960782
People used to be resoling they're own shoes, cutting ventilation holes in tech jackets. There was even some avant garde stuff. Some guy have made a hood out of necklace like chains on his crew neck. Just some cool stuff
>>
>>10960789
That sounds pretty interesting, I'd love to see pics. The OP post was just a general post, any kind of cool DIY shit is welcome
>>
i need some DIY collars....

I recently tried taking the dye out of an old pair blue jeans. It left them a sort of stone colour with contrast stitching.
>>
what would happen if i dyed a pair of grey cotton sweatpants with blue dye, would they turn completely blue or would the white noise-ish pattern still be visible?

Any ideas on what i could do with this shirt? This would be my first time doing any diy stuff
>>
>>10964721
basically i bunched up the bottom half of the body and arms then kept putting rubberbands around them to keep it in a circle. i ended up rubberbanding a plastic bag around the top to keep it un bleached but that didnt really work. then i submerged it in a bucket with 4:1 water and bleach
>>
>>10966169
made outta like 2 yards of sweater fleece. took me about 2 hours to make
>>
how do into natural dyes
>>
>>10966945

bump
>>
>>10966230
i think it looks kinda okay as it is

you could do the usual flannel DIY and bleach the bottom half or draw/write something on wtih bleach, but in my experience forcing a DIY just gives you a shitter result than the original

Carefully slit the pictured seam with an xacto-knife and the rip along it with either the knife or a seam ripper. It's serged underneath so it shouldn't come off.
The effect won't be exact replica since the jumper you've pictured has unserged reversed seams on the cuffs.

It doesn't go very far into detail on actual embroidery, but there's lots of tutorials online for that, and you can pick up books on needlecraft at thriftstores, libraries, and your grandma's attic.
