LGE isnt defined in the drive doc in the op, so i googled it and found another product with the same material. The store description said Genuine Leather which definitely fits the LGE printed in his creepers.

so I bought this on sale and when it arrived it fit tightly (not in a bad way) around my waist and wrists
but now, a few days later the stretch is almost completely gone and it just hangs there

I think people get the pencil eraser feel mostly from the older crepe sole/stapled soles (dunks for example). Those are legit like pencil eraser rubber - they wear down far too quickly. Newer ones are much more durable.

Not all leathers are made in Moldova. I haven't seen a blistered lamb one made in the last 4 years which wasn't Moldova however.

7/10 doesn't seem great, I've gotten Bauhaus is full grain calf and lamb leathers in much better condition in 600-700 range. I would say don't pay any more than 650.

That's not entirely true. "Genuine leather" as a term is most often used by lower end companies selling their product to people who have little experience and assume all leather is good - BUT still exists as a term just differentiating between leather and PU and other faux leathers.

I'm not so sure that's correct either, but it does make sense. Red Wing marks it's leather soles (when they're exposed) with a "genuine leather" stamp. I think in that case it's a way for people buying $200+ shoes for the first time to feel vindicated. As you say- people with little experience.

That said, there are countless definitions for Genuine Leather supplied by reputable leather goods manufacturers that say (for example):

"Genuine leather is the third grade of leather and is produced from the layers of hide that remain after the top is split off for the better grades. The surface is usually refinished (spray painted) to resemble a higher grade. It can be smooth or rough."

This is why it's dangerous to throw the term around. I would strongly question any goods listed as genuine leather rather than full grain. There are some context clues, like price and country of origin. In rick's case, $1500 creepers made in Italy are unlikely to be made from the same grade of leather as $100 shoes made in China.

Get another picture of the tags, closer and all sides, as well as a pic of the front and back of the zipper. That jacket gets faked a lot and I've seen some pretty good ones. If it is fake the seller probably doesn't even know looking at his other items and history.

Nah, the quality is still super high on the Moldova made stuff. The only part that's done on Moldova is sewing, every other part of the process is done in Italy - so same fabrics, patterns, designs, hardware. Basically "assembled in Moldova."
