It's growing out fairly normally honestly, as is it goes about halfway down my neck, but my hair is a weird halfway between wavy and curly, kinda big loose curls as it gets longer.
So if I pull a hair straight it reaches my shoulder.
The sides are a bit shorter though and are mostly growing thick rather then long. Goes down to the top of my jaw or so behind the ears.
Just a pain in the ass it keep it nice, if I don't take a shower AND use some sort of gel/wax my hair gets frizzy as hell and is impossible to control.
Which is the one thing making me debate growing it out much longer. Want to try something new, but not if I'm going to look like shit for a few months first.
I could always get it thinned a little bit on the top and sides but most of the places around here don't really know how to do that well, they almost always take some off the length as well.
Kind of in a limbo of decisions.

I do miss the meme cut though. I liked having the shaved sides of my head but without looking like a baldie either and still having something to work with.
Plus I could wear it up with gel or kinda flatted down for a more muted look.

But, I don't want to give into the urge just yet.

any recommendations on how to add some volume to the top? I recently started using a sea salt spray (not in right now) and that helps sometimes but otherwise i really don't use product.

if i dont shampoo my hair looks greasy as hell but styles correctly. using any amount of shampoo makes my hair go completely straight and i end up looking like an emo high schooler.

Is it worth getting my hair thinned at my next haircut? I've got hair about 8 inches long at the front and 6 inches at the back, but its pretty thick atm and am thinking of getting it cut into something like pic.

It sits like this when wet, but I would like it to sit like this regularly. Is thinning my best bet?
