Will pliable hold be strong enough? Last product I tried advertised a medium hold and it wasn't close to enough.

semi-thick. The medium hold product I tried just made it kind of wavy and didn't keep it in place well.

Since we're talking about men's hair, does anyone have a shampoo recommendation? My hair gets really flaky and greasy. I haven't been able to find anything that works for it. Shampooing more than once every 2-3 days dries out my hair and scalp too much, conditioners I've tried don't help control the excessive flaking and greasiness, and neither do any of the shampoos I've tried.

Please help.

You should give dry shampoo a shot, in between shampoos. Like shampoo monday, see how it goes on tuesday, and use the dry shampoo either on wednesday or thursday.

Greasy hair might come from overwashing, and/or from a shampoo that's too harsh (also water that's too hard). I'm not going to give shampoo recommendations because I wuldn't be much help but dry shampoo can help.

Keep in mind it's something you're supposed to use when you have to wash your hair but are out of time, it's not something you can use all the time.
