They're fine, but I still mostly wear Puma.

I guess if you're going for the full Rick synergy you can buy his socks, but unless you're wearing cropped pants or shorts no one's gonna see your socks. I wear mostly Dahlgren alpaca wool socks.

I don't know the technical differences but blistered leather is flat. It's just texture on the leather. On the other hand suede actually has hairs that stands up off the leather. So it's not flat.

Suede is the top side of the leather that has been sanded to an even nep, like you're used to seeing on traditional suede things. Reverse leather is full grain leather turned upside down, so that the rough (uneven, kinda veiny) side of the skin faces outward. Blistered is an actual treatment, I'm not sure whether it's chemical or physical, that makes the leather seem almost as if it's been burned - lots of raised blisters, uneven distressing, a little fuzzy in patches. Blistered is my favorite because very few designers actually do it, and Rick is the only one who does it consistently.

The Last Conspiracy does pretty identical copies of both the side- and back- zip boots. Side is called "Sergio" and back is called "Zak." I'm not sure about they're normal availability but I've seen them around. Also unsure on quality but they definitely look like good leather from the photos.

Yeah, I've seen the wiki article. By "Underside" they mean that the top is split away (top grain leather) and the lower part is finished to make suede. I guess at that point it wouldn't matter which side you finish but the side with the clean cut (top) works best.

5 pieces, I've had another 4 or so that I've sold on. Still in college so I only really buy when I get lucky flipping or in the summer when I work a lot.

Canvas ramones, classic Geos, blistered intarsia, pods, silk/viscose tee. Definitely need to build up more tees and probably a pair of pants at some point - but I'm definitely happy with how I dress now.

Oh really, that's strange. Mine came in all Julian packaging. The box was enormous. Must have cost a ton of money to ship (probably one of the reasons it triggered customs, which I've never had to do before). The little ribbons and note cards were a nice touch, though I hate having packages that have the site name all over them. It freaks me out. Fortunately my apartment building has a concierge and is pretty secure.

Yeah ssense for the most part doesn't give a fuck. The last pair of shoe I bought from there were Yang Li boots. The box they came in was utterly destroyed, the paper all torn, the shoes showing a lil signs of wear (possibly photo styling). The previous pair of shoes I had bought from them were common projects that had a staple shooting through in sole, cut my foot when I put them on because I didn't notice. I emailed them about it, took several days for them to respond and treated me with incredulity. Not a fan of their customer service.

Don't use standard black leather dye, shit is gross and makes your leather crusty. You can dissolve steel wool in vinegar to make a "healthy" leather dye - one that will leave them soft. But you'll still have gum soles, and it's likely to be uneven and weird looking. I would strongly advise against dying - try to sell them on and buy a pair in a color you actually want to wear, even if it's a slight loss. Dying them will kill any chance of resell and there's a lot of Geos on the market right now you could switch for.


As for inspo: they kinda work best with fits that aren't heavy on the black. Try more sandy Browns or pale colors.

Generally, the older seasons run TTS and the newer ones run a size large. I'm a 36" chest, small in everything and my medium leather fits me like a glove. It's from 2012, in not sure when the sizing switched. Maybe 2011? Nahk could confirm, pardon my ignance.

A good indicator is that if it's marked with letter sized (XS, S,M,L and so on) it's an older piece, and fits true to size. If it's number sizes (i.e. 46, 48, 50...) it fits a size small. The reasoning for this is that when they switched to numbers, XS became 46 instead of 44 (as it usually would be) for some reason. Can't remember what season it happened exactly, but definately around 10/11.

Tbh I really dig the dickhole top, if it was the same size as the embroidered I wouldve considered copping, its just slightly to big across the shoulders for my liking - though it is soft and fleecy af on the inside, really comfortable. Struggled to get my head in as its a solid collar, not clasped like the embroidered.

Part of me thinks the embroidered tabard won't drop much lower. Havent seen it cheaper than £500 as of yet.

So you say it was boxy. What size are you in Rick tops usually? A small? And you tried on a small? The other turtleneck sleeveless tops from that season I've tried on have been boxy as well, worth sizing down, so that makes sense. I'm just not sure how tight in the neck a small will be on me.

It was only boxy because it was rigid, its a thick material, almost like carpet lol. I'm either an XS or S in tops Rick tops, mostly S though. TTS 46.

Yeah its a S, I went to the Rick store before Browns just to have a chat and apparently according to a girl there they didnt even make it in a XS because it wouldnt fit anyone.

The neck hole is snug but not uncomfortable, quite the opposite infact, its really really comfortable.

Only issue I had with the small was that the body was quite roomy in the waist area, but thats kind of what you get when its a straight down cut.

Luisaviaroma is having an extra 20% sale on everything on sale. Do you guys recommend picking up anything? Any nice steals?

You may have problems putting them on if you go a full size down from tts. I went tts and there's just toe room, heel and anke area fits great. Sizing down half could be done, but full size you may be fucking up your pinky toes real bad and face a busted zipper trying to put them on.

I think dark dust is probably the hardest to pair up - I don't think its easy to wear with white so typically when I wear it its like the only non-black colour
its a bit like brown/green so it doesn't necessarily fit in with a whole greyscale 'look'

Hey guys! First time back here in a few months and I have a legitimate inquiry. After being my daily wear for about 18 months, a section of the laces for my DRKSHDW lows finally ripped off. The rest of the shoe is still pretty solid and it sucks that this is what's keeping me from wearing thm. I've emailed Ricks customer care and honestly Tallulah wasn't very helpful and basically just said that next time I order a shoe (from the actual retail website I assume, ha) to send her the receipt and she would send along another pair of laces. What's my best option? Drive 4 hours to the closest Rick store and beg them for a pair? Between my boyfriend and I we have 4 pairs of Ricks so this is going to happen again and I want to be more prepared next time. Thanks!!

Best bet would probably be to take them to rick store but I guess thats a bit unfeasible for you. Did you buy them from Rick Store?

If not, try and contact where you bought them from but I guess all theyre going to do is show you the door if they were 18 months ago.

Alternatively, can't you salvage some laces from some of your other shoes? Most come with two sets of laces in different colours

I bought them from Barney's but yes I assume they'll say they can't do anything either since it has been so long. I have considered using the other laces from our shoes but the issue is this is the only pair of lows.
