Honestly the brand of the tie doesn't matter much, just buy generic silk ties and you're good. The width and pattern matters a lot more than the brand.

Ross/Marshalls. They're usually ten or twelve bucks and have some fashionable ones like Calvin Klein, Ben Sherman, etc. Don't buy online cus you can't tell the width or color or texture usually.

I generally get my ties from thrift stores and vintage stores and spend anywhere from $0.25 to $15. I prefer less structured ties (untipped if possible) of silk, wool, or cotton. Big chunky heavy ties are far more strangulating than a nice unlined/thinly lined tie. Ranked important to unimportant:
1) how the tie's fabric looks
2) how the tie knots
3) how the tie drapes
4) how the tie is constructed
5) how the tie feels on your fingers

These are the main things that you should be worried about after "does this width and length actually work for me".
