Disagree.

Boots with laces have teir place, I can imagine combat boots without laces looking odd but something as sleek and elegant as a creeper boot would just look bad with laces.

The only people I could see caring about this are the ones that try to run an independent boutique. Must be pretty annoying for them to loose revenue over people coming in to try out sizes and buying from the cheapest store online. For huge retailers (like Rick stores) it shouldn't be much of a problem.

Boutiques can't compete on price but they can go for better customer care and selection
- the boutiques I've been haven't seemed to care that much because its part of there
'experience'/ they have different clients to the online stores / they stock completely different
clothes - but desu a few have stopped selling rick all-together so idk if its really comparable?

Depends what kind of clothing you usually wear. Creepers work better with looser, rick esque clothing due to the exaggerated toe and chunkier sole imo. Guidis are perfect with slimmer artisanal clothing like ccp, bbs and ma+.
>>
>>10728215
I pretty much wear

Bottom: Black skinny jeans or cropped pants when wearing sneakers

Top: Fitted sweatshirts / hoodies / tees and don't really have many jackets but wanting to pick up a denim and leather one soon

I like both the boots just cause they fit my style but give more of an edge and offer something different rather than just the standard chelsea or combat boot

how possible is it to integrate Rick pieces into a more "normie" wardrobe? I'm thinking stuff like tees and ramones. does that just come off really poorly or can it be done well? I'm interested in picking up some Rick pieces but I don't want to go fully into the aesthetic.
>>
>>10729423
Yes you can integrate rick owens into "normie" outfits but I personally never understood why anyone would want to, why buy ramones if you want them to look like converse for example. But yes t shirt and some boots can look ok in "normie" outfits.

Whats it like wearing rick owens clothes.

How do you feel in them, are they comfortable? Are geobaskets comfortable, they dont look very secure on the foot. What about Ramones?
>>
>>10732496

Had black dunks. I wore them so much i had to get them resoled 3 times, dyed the worn leather back to black. Still got $250 when i sold them. Ignore all the trolling and enjoy the shoes. Rick footwear is very comfortable and look better with wear.

This is an argument many people tend to take when trying to attack someone who is trying to be less negatively impactful on the world as a whole. It is frankly not the right way to approach things. I understand that you are comfortable in your beliefs but you have to realize that just by being a human you are damaging and utilizing the earth's resources in a harmful manner. The pollution of the earth from garment creation is a real phenomenon but at that same token when it comes to lesser of two evils 1. Being the torture and murder of an innocent creature and 2. Having significantly less environmental impact than the meat/leather industry but still harming the world.

Not to mention that these garments are second hand. The amount of acreage it takes to farm animals is insurmountable when compared to the acreage it takes to grow cotton/natural fibers.

>>
>>10735175
The technicalities of murder don't apply to animals. Its slaughter
>>
>>10735175
I can't defend the animal slaughter industry as I imagine it's lot worse than people think it is, but a lot of radical vegans make it out to be the worst it can possibly be.

A dingy rural Chinese slaughter house cannot be compared to a European one.
>>
>>10735181
We have been conditioned to have a double standard about what animals matter and which ones dont. A pig is vastly more intelligent than a dog. If cats and dogs were treated the way that other land animals are treated when they are murdered in slaughter houses America would be up in arms. Cows chicken and pigs (to name a few) can all feel pain and pleasure the same way that any other creature with a nervous system can. If you truly dont care and do not have compassion for animals in general that is different. Maybe you are okay with paying someone to murder your animals for you. Regardless, if you cant slit the throat of a cow and butcher it because the sight and feeling is too much for you to bear then maybe you should reconsider your decision in partaking in the meat dairy and egg industries.
>>
>>10735193
You're still using the word murder.

The dictionary definition of murder clearly states it is the unlawful killing of another human being. Stop strawmanning
>>
>>10735188
How does the detailing of a slaughter house, a center developed only for the sole purpose of butchering and murdering animals make anything different? If you dont think its "that bad" then watch some videos on youtube. I wont link any on here because thats not my point but there is no such thing as "humane" slaughter. It is taking a life that is not yours to take. End of story.
>>
>>10735196
'some videos on YouTube' can't sum up the whole industry and if you think it does you're severely deluded
>>
>>10735195
Alright lets debate about the word choice and not the issue. Killing, slaughtering whatever synonym you would like to use is irrelevant. If you want to make an argument in favor of a sinister practice you wont win. It is fundamentally wrong to take a life that is not yours to take. You do not own a sentient being, it has the right to live its life without some shitty human cutting it into pieces because it "tastes good".
>>
>>10735196
the "detailing" makes a very large difference, you hippy fuck. whether an animal is killed through multiple painful strikes from a blunt weapon or through painless, instant electrocution, does make a difference.
>>
>>10735200
Fair enough. You know what does sum on an entire industry of meat, eggs and dairy? Killing. The unjust killing of billions of sentient beings annually. Tell me its okay to take a life, because it is not. Animals feel just as you and I do. We are not above animals. We are worse than them, cant you see that? Hypothetically speaking, if animals were to have a religion the image of the devil would be a human. Just think about the conditions and the killings that humans put animals through. You do not need animal protein to survive. Animal proteins are the number one cause of disease in the world.
>>
>>10735204
It does make a difference because the end result is the same. If I rape a woman is that okay? Of course not. If I roofie a woman and rape her and she doesnt remeber it is it okay? Of course not. Why is sedating or instantly killing a creature humane? Humane and killing are fundamentally different words and cannot exist in the same space.
>>
>>10735205
killing can be justified, human or animal
>>
>>10735210
false equivalence, not an argument
>>
>>10735205
So in your mind animals shouldn't eat other animals either. Even all the carnivorous ones, or the omnivorous ones. Which we are. Omnivorous. We are part of the food chain and we have just evolved and developed it for the progression of our species.

In your perfect world no one would eat or use any other animal based item.
>>
>>10735212
Are you justifying the killing of billions of creatures with "I like the taste of meat" because that is the only premise to consume animals. You dont need to take a life to live as a human. You can choose to be different friend, you can choose to live a life that is of the most minimal impact on the earth and the creatures that inhabit it.
>>
>>10735218
But we don't just kill animals for sustenance. Animal products effect every single industry from medical care to fire extinguishing.

If we never used animal products we would be century's behind where we are as a species
>>
>>10735215
Why do you try and justify a human's behavior with that of an animal in the wilderness? You dont justify eating your newborn child because a lion does it. You dont sleep outside naked because a lion does it. In nature there is an ecosystem, a very diverse back and fourth.

And let me debunk this whole "we are omnivorous" bullshit that you are holding on to from your elementary school science classes. Here is an example of an Omnivore, a bear. Trademark signs of an omnivore, denoted by claws, we do not have claws. Our canines are not actually sharp, if we had the canines of an omnivore or carnivore would we be using knives and forks. Our teeth grind from side to side.
We do not have omnivorous or carnivorous instincts. You could not kill and consume an animal without first preparing it and cooking it, that is not natural. We are the only creature that does this because guess why, we are not omnivores. We have 30ft of intestines where carnivores have 15-20ft
They need a shorter tract to get the decomposing flesh in and out as to not clog arteries. Why do you think we have so many issues with clogged arteries? Omnivores and carnivores do not suffer of clogged heart arteries from their diets of meat because they are designed to consume meat and we are not.

You know, after every human is a vegan sure, I will try to debate with lions over a pakistani fingerpainting forum.
>>
>>10735233
"Humans are classic examples of omnivores in all relevant anatomical traits. There is no basis in anatomy or physiology for the assumption that humans are pre-adapted to the vegetarian diet. For that reason, the best arguments in support of a meat-free diet remain ecological, ethical, and health concerns."

Our health problems as a race mainly stem from the high sugar diet and the over consumption of meat. We're not supposed to have meat 3 times a day 7 days a week.
>>
>>10735225
My point is that it is not necessary. We dont have to test our medicines on animals. We dont have to use animal byproducts. There are many other alternatives and if these alternatives do not exist we should work towards find one. Not to mention how these industries effect the very livelihood of other humans. More than half of the grains that are produced in africa go to feeding livestock instead of sustaining the people on that continent. Meat eggs and cheese are the largest contributing factor to world hunger.
>>
>>10735237
Protein from animals is high in sulfur it makes your body acidic, its not meant
to be acidic its meant to be alcaline. So the more cows milk and animal protein you consume the weaker your bones become. The body has to balance the acidity entering the bloodstream by utilizing the calcium in your bones. If you look at countries in africa they dont suffer from osteoporosis and heart disease on this massive scale like the US does.
>>
>>10735241
Its not testing that's the only part of medical use of animal products.

We use pig tracheas in replace of human ones.
We can use pigs kidneys as dyallisis to filter someone's blood.
The aircraft industry uses a foam based fire repellent manufactured from bulls blood

Granted we are now moving onto synthetic versions of the above, but if we didn't use the animal products as a stepping stone who knows how long it would've taken to achieve the synthetic versions
>>
>>10735249
Meat isn't the only source of heart disease.

High sugar diets paired with a severe lack of exercise is what is killing off Americans by the hundred.
>>
>>10735252
Okay. Sure. Do the very few uses of animal byproducts justify the greed and desire for flesh that runs so deeply in our culture? I do not believe so. At the end of the day there will be small exceptions as with most things but why contribute directly to the suffering and killing of innocent creatures by stuffing your mug with a cheeseburger? We shouldn't. We should progress and move as a species to accept that animals have a right to live out their lives without us killing them. You know it took 400 years to convince white men in america that blacks shouldn't be enslaved? So of course it will take a long time to get animals the rights they deserve but the least we can do is not contribute to the killing of helpless creatures.

>>
>>10735254
I didn't say that meat is the only source of heart disease. If you only eat fruit loops and fruit rollups you're a vegan but is that conducive to a healthy life style? Of course not. As with any health conscious endeavor we should do the research to lead the most healthy lives that we can while doing the least harm to other creatures and the planet. You will also find it is much more difficult to be an obese vegan than it is to be an obese dairy meet and egg eater.

Changing my wardrobe and my diet certainly qualify as "doing shit" as well as helping to educate anons in a Rick Owens thread of all fucking places. I forgot about the great amount of hospitalized vegans on the verge of death from vitamin b12 deficiency. Very similar to the thousands of people getting diet invoked strokes every month. At the very worst I dont mind taking a vitamin b12 supplement instead of undergoing chemotherapy from cancers caused by meat dairy and cheese consumption.

I have heavily researched the dairy meat and egg industries and if you did the same you would come to the same sensibile conclusion that I have. Animal killing is one of the most negatively impactful actions that humans partake in period. As long as you remain a supporter of the meat egg and dairy industries do not say that you love animals. Do not say that you are a kind human being. You are a hypocrite in this case because you are paying someone else to do something you can not, which is butcher innocent creatures for your own personal pleasure. If you would open your mind and look into these issues instead of sticking your head in the sand these facts would be all but too aparent.

I would recommend it because it's so versatile, but still features the interesting details that makes Rick what it is: the zipped hood, the slim, soft sleeves, even the hoodie itself is cut to a length that you don't need anything super long to wear it with. You can wear it on top or underneath anything, all year round.

The other hoodies Rick offers are just alright: Mountain only has the giant hood, and the rest are pretty plain.

If you're thinking of copping a gimp, especially if you can find one with the og strap, go for it!

ordered this from spence and its more of a shirt

good for layering with long sleeve or under coats

Why do you say that? If I could afford creepers I might be wearing them here, but I feel the Ramones fit in pretty well.

How comfy is it?
>>
>>10737348
Ricks mohair is pretty damn comfy, but tend to itch a little, esp. in the beginning. It is naturally very good at regulating temperature though, as most wool.

>>10737334
Did you go true to size?

>>10737354
How do you stop it from getting dirty as fuck and if it does get dirty how do you clean it? dry clean or?
>>
>>10737322
Good answer might have to buy
>>
>>10737362
Since it's wool, it doesn't have the same fibre properties as cotton for example, thus bacteria (sweat) and dirt doesn't attach itself as easily (insert scientific explanation here). There is no other trick to keeping it clean, just wash it when it gets dirty. I usually handwash mohair and other wool with a wool detergent at body temperature or a little lower. Don't expose it to hot or boiling water, as it will turn to felt.

Source: I own a Rick mohair sweater with another one coming in the mail. Also, a virgin wool one.

I don't own that particular model, but in my experience, those exact ones tend to fit a bit oversized.

What do you think about RO clothes wearing people more they wear the clothes and how do you think people avoid this problem? :Pic related

No stores around me stock anything good so can't try on shoes, but currently have a pair of geobaskets size 42 and drkshdw ramones size 42, ramones fit me relatively well but the geobaskets are too roomy. I wanted to buy mainline ramones but does anyone know if they fit more like geobaskets or drkshdw ramones

>Geobaskets/Creepers/Ramone Boots
Go 1/2 or 1 size down from your TTS

>Ramones/Tech Runners
Either TTS or down 1/2 depending on the shape of your foot....Reading its really that easy

I normally wear a 46 in other more normally fitting brands like ccp and ordered a 48, it fits me similarly to the model, tight around the arms and normally in the body. It's pretty comfy but slightly itchy, keep in mind it has 30% silk, so it's smoother than a 100% mohair sweater. It's a little thick to wear without an undershirt imo.

yeah thanks that's rly helpful..
i'm really asking about the difference between drkshdw and mainline ramones, in pictures the mainline ones look a lot more bulbous so the sizing could be different. Inferring that I asked not because I couldn't read is really easy

>>10737537
don't be a new money fuccboi and don't just wear loud pieces regardless of how they work together.

If no one cared about it then why am I having a discussion about it with multiple anons? I dont mind explaining my views. Please realize I am not preaching or talking down to people but I am justifying my views on animal cruelty.

>>10737537

>>
>>10738165
you're not having a discussion, you're baiting back and forth with a bunch of other idiots. explain your views somewhere where they are easier for the rest of us to avoid.
