Shit list.
>>
>>10715415

not my list, but yeah I like my Levi 511s as much as my Acnes.

Jeans are jeans, as long as the cut is right, and the wash is good, then it's up to you on what feels "better"
>>

I'll stick with Levis, thanks.

Fabric and construction of mainline levis has been shit for years stay mad poorfags.
>>
if you like skinny, tapered cuts, slp's d02 15.5 in are one of my favorites, although admittedly very expensive. usually justify slp for the washes/ distressing they come in.

acne thin's are an excellent consolation, virtually the same cut (with less of an inseam) although acne's washes aren't too great. their black/ "used" black pairs are great though, have a pair on right now

jeans are jeans but I tried on slp and fell in love with the fit and the taper and there are only a couple of brands that do it right... and I don't like the idea of getting jeans tailored... so yeah
>>

to be honest, no. Like I said I like my Acnes but I do feel spending $240 on them was frivolous.

If you have disposable income, go for it, if you have to actually save up for them, no.

>>10721025
Yeah that list was made maybe 3 years ago

Still it's funny to see all the buthurt over that list. It's not a definitive list people, it's just a "guide" for people to start looking at brands of jeans outside their normal realm.

Oh yeah you are right, they are nudies.

question regarding 511's:

whats the best way to shrink the waist? the length is just where I need it, but the waist has stretched out by about an inch and a half.

the jeans are 33x32. i tried on a pair of 31x32 the other day and they were PERFECT. can I salvage these jeans? or should I just buy a new pair and save myself the trouble?

I have a pair of distressed black skinnies, not 100% happy with how it looks around the knee area, like it "crumples" there a little too much. Other than that they have not lost their shape or anything, but I still kinda wish I went for all-black

Thinking of copping APC Petit New Standards, they just seem like what I'm looking for in a minimal pair of jeans.

They look more slim than super skinny like some others, not too edgy, and no pocket detailing. To be honest I like my Nudies and they are lightweight and soft but the pocket detailing is just too much.

Thing is : I want a pair of barely distressed dark indigo jeans. I want to wash my jeans and I don't want any of this 'not washing for 6 months nonsense'. Am I going to have to keep buying new APCs every 6 months if I want a dark pair of jeans, and my old ones become my 'mid wash' and then my 'light wash' pairs? Seems like kinda a pain in the arse.

>>
You're honestly not going to know until you try on different pairs. I love the way levis 511 fit me. I'm all for spending money on a more quality pair, but there's also nothing wrong (and should be highly supported) with spending less on a pair of jeans that fit better. You could buy a pair of h&m jeans and a pair of acne jeans and the h&m might fit better. The fit is the primary concern. If you want to try acne jeans, I would order them online from a place where you know you can return (I think nordstrom has them) so you can judge if you like the fit. Return them and try to find them cheaper somewhere else online.

Anyone know what SLP means by 15.5 cm leg opening in their D02s? I want to taper my jeans to fit similar, but 6.1 inch leg opening sounds pretty wide actually for jeans of those type. Is it possibly 6.1 including front and back?

I don't really want to wear someones elses used jeans. Especially with this 'non washing' culture.

I might buy a used coat or sweater, nothing that touches the skin. ew.
>>
>>10735313
they are though? levis are like a go to pant for construction, manual labor etc. besides dickies of course. Theyre made to last over style. You go to work in your fear of god jeans pleb?

>>
>>10735590
that might have been the case decades ago, but levi's are not particularly sturdy. I think the cut on the 510's has been improved a lot over the years though. My old pairs are pretty spray-on but my new ones have a more modern straight-skinny cut.

april77s are great - I actually think they're put together better than my acne's, but the acne's definitely have a better cut and thicker fabric

>>10735313

>>
>>10729863
Yeah just wear a belt. Honestly, I don't recommending sizing down your levi's, unless they don't fit properly in the first place. Since the 511s are pretty slim, get your true to size and get a belt so the waist doesn't stretch.
>>
honestly go to a nordstrom, or barneys or some place that has some quality brands and just try them on. you might hate the way some brands/cuts/styles fit and its impossible to tell from the internet even if some anonymous person swears its god tier

Our Legacy denim is definitely underrated. It's sourced and manufactured in Italy, the price is reasonable (which turns into a bargain during sales) and the quality is among the best I've personally tried - it towers over Acne and APC, for instance.

Only downside: First Cut will fit like shit if your under 6'1'', but Cut Zero is perfect (given you're not a skinnyfat twink).
