I'm at the super awkward stage. I have thick hair that dries this way. It's so annoying. if I go any shorter than 2 inches it will not stay down. Even when my hair is long enough to stay down it has insane volume and will turn into this in a few minutes even if I do use products in it.

From what I've seen, long hair on men needs to be textured and styled to a certain extent. Long hair that flows straight down usually looks awful. Put some product in it for texture & some hold, and style it. ie push it back or something. Find something that works for you. But don't just let your hair sit with nothing done to it.

we have very similar hair texture, What I did to make my awkward stage easier was to use a small amount of coconut oil after I shampoo and just leave it in, my hair is super coarse and it only looks good like 2-3 days after not shampooing but then I get really bad dandruff so coconut oil lets me have the best of both. Also, get the bangs out of your face, use a hair band to put it up while it dries, then you can take it out and you'll have Vnice hair

Like I said before, thinner hair does look a lot more smooth, and a good barber might be able to pull that off for you. But if your problem really is just that it's too dry/rough/clumpy, try a better conditioner.

I use glycerin a lot. Just soak your hair in that shit before you go to bed and you'll feel the difference when you wash it off in the shower next morning. It's amazing as a moisturizer and I use it on my face/hands as well.

So basically, just take care of it more and if it still doesn't look like the way you want it to, you gotta go snip snip.

Gently? No.

However there are ways to minimise the damage to a point where it's next to zero. Use a good conditioner after washing your hair and then use some kind of dry-in product that smoothens and protects your hair from the heating iron.

I use the conditioner from Redken Smooth-Lock and also the same leave-in stuff (forgot name) from the same line after I towel-dried my hair. Let it dry over night and the next morning just straighten it. Also important: Apply a few drops of some high quality oil to your entire hair, like tsubaki or argan. I do this for over 5 years and my hair is super straight and healthy, despite being an afro jew.

i've posted this on many other threads but nothing has worked.

my hair looks great when I don't wash for around 3 or 4 days. no showering at all, it is silky, smooth, very clean.

when any part of my hair comes in contact with the shower then my hair gets really frizzy and large and hard to run my fingers through it.

I've tried so many things. nopoo didn't work, no products at all didn't work, cold showers didn't work. now i just tie my hair back in the shower and make sure the water doesn't touch it, but I don't clean my neck and round my ears.


pls help /fa/ what can I do to make my hair better (without not showering for five days).

It's been long forever and I still don't have a set routine for it. I know it doesn't look great and it's hard as hell to keep the top fizz-free. Also kind of a pain dealing with the front and how it should part sometimes. Some days the curls come through nicely, other days they flatten, other days they look really solid and silly, almost like thick jew curls, which isn't something I really want.

I hate straightening mine, I fee like it makes too big of a difference. Everything feels thinner and greasier and straight hair just doesn't work for me. Sometimes I touch up bits with a straightener if I absolutely have to, but otherwise I just work with what I get out of the shower.

Well it looks like you kind of let it do whatever it wants. The top above your forehead looks good, and then the hair going down the side of your face looks all dried out. I'm sure there'd be other inconsistencies if I saw the rest of it too. I don't know what your current regimen is for it now but you should try out other products. Also I'd recommend parting to the side at least until it's longer
