Stop using New Times Roman, Calibri, Arial and Verdana.
Post your favorite fonts.
Casual clean: Segoe UI, Myriad Pro
Someone posted this in a morning routine thread a few days ago. Some anon asked what the font was but never got a reply. I tried several ways of analyzing the font but I can't find the correct one.
Looks like Pyke, Velino or Parvenu but it isn't exactly the same.

Good idea for a thread

I personally find these fonts really boring.
Also, is it weird that I really like Times New Roman? It's got such a reserved look but still feels steeped in tradition and history
>>10682406
More like steeped with the memories of years of academic papers in MLA format.
Arial is the most /fa/ font, no questions asked.
Brutal practicalilty, with a sharp and concise flare.
>>10682406
Times New Roman is the font equivalent of khaki chinos with a navy polo honestly. It's boring and standard.
>>10682420
You know nothing.
Let's stop pretending Times New, Verdana, et. all are bad fonts. They're good, but I'm also interested in what other non-standard fonts there are to compare with them.
>>10682410
Different anon here, but oh gosh that feel.
Fonts I use for web design:
source sans pro
open sans
lucida grande
lato
raleway
proxima-nova
droid sans
helvetica light
Who has the most /fa/ documents here?
Ignore threadbare content.

Very very bad font choice and even worse combination and colour wth were you thinking
I like it but I have been looking to move on, what would you recommend?
Also talk shit post doc desu

>Very very bad font choice and even worse combination and colour wth were you thinking
I hate to jump on the hate train, but I agree.
Good documents - for the purposes of notes, briefs, etc. - should be as easy to read as possible. Serifed fonts at 100% black are a must. Times New Roman is a convenient choice because it is easily read both on screen and when printed. Headings can be a different color, but still need much more contrast - I prefer giving them backgrounds rather than giving a different color. Bullet points should be much more clearly indented, and subpoints should be centered or indented.
Way too much of my work revolves around making readable documents, fuck me
(also lol at the subject matter of that document)

They spelled 'success' wrong

Of course, this document will only ever be seen by me
This gets me in the mood for looking at beautiful documents, where can I look at beautiful documents?
>>10682395
Come on man, Times New Roman is the shit!
It may not be super flashy or anything, but there is a reason why it's so widely used.
Its simplicity speaks volumes!
Times new roman
can't get better than that, a classic

Wiggity word, homey g
There IS a reason why it's so popular

looks like LaTeX
Garamond, 12
1.5 spacing
A bit less ubiquitous than TNR, a bit more stylish too. Abobe Garamond and its relatives are a tier above regular Garamond. Too bad every version looks like shit in cursive.
Any opinions on Euphemia? I think I really like it, but maybe its because I still have the taste of Helvetica's dick in my mouth.
>>10682499
No san serif is better u dumb fuck, unless it will printed and read lots, but for most people's notes, san serif is by far the better option.
>>10682404
hnnnnnnnnnnnnnng

is this fucking /lit/
>>10682844
We need a /lit/ & /fa/ collaboration honestly.
Both boards have interfaces. Especially with typography, bookcovers and art-related literature.

Literally went through all LaTeX sans-serif fonts but can't find it. Heurestica and GFS Bodoni are very close but not the exact copy.
The assymetrical C, diagonal upwards bottom leg of the E, curling swash of the v, the thick spine in the S and the tail of the R make it look so perfect for what I need.
Times New roman and Arial can look great. they're used loads at the moment in 'trendy' graphic design, particularly stretched versions.
