I've heard Alpha is not as good in terms of quality since they moved their production to China, but then if you aren't planning to go marauding in it, maybe this doesn't matter.

Helikon makes a very good m65, mil-spec not slim though. I guess you could get it tailored and still end up below the Alpha's price.

If you don't mind buying it used, milsurp seems like a great option since they come in different shapes (like the length and the size are separate variables).
