I'm pretty sure Kaban is 100% girl. And if OP is still here, she fits your description perfectly.

My friend used to make fun of me for wearing them. She would laugh and say, "Your shorts are so long!" and eventually I realized that most people share her opinion and I stopped. I like how casual they seem, but they aren't popular since they de-emphasize the curves of women's legs.
