It's been a while. Allow me to ask about this yet again.

Has anyone ever stumbled upon MMD model of this character? Or any 3D rendition of that at all really? Her name is Irisu Kyouko and she is character from moderately obscure puzzle game called "Irisu Syndrome!"

I ever only once saw some "work in progress" draft of her model on DA, but that project was since scrapped and cancelled by the author. For the longest of time now I've been looking for any other model of her.

Sometimes they do, but a lot of the "R-18"-tagged stuff has moonrune titles. I think they were ripped from niconicodouga, so they have the hyperactive camera and dances.

Is there any way to avoid this splitting without joining the vertices before I use Smooth Vertex in Blender?

Only way I have found to stop geometry getting shit on by smooth operations was to deselect key points that make up the general framework of it.
But it is so tedious you may as well reposition the points manually after smoothing.

I do not know if there is a way to automate it by designating some key points and such.
But admittedly I haven't done any 3D modelling in over a decade.
I should get back in to it some time.
I automated loads of tasks when editing to make scene creation so easy. Even made generators that spat out meshes which I then imported.
But my laptop drive smashed in to itself one morning, I woke up to it shattering itself and my life in twain. Lost it all.

I've been following MMD since the first thread that was made here. I busted my hardest nut with a video featuring the old Touhou models with triangle nipples dancing to "Kiss me" and I've been here since then. This is probably my only fetish, and following creators, models and motions is kinda like a hobby now.
I don't know how the fuck it started, at first it was passwords, then hidden drives, riddles, etc. But this community, especially the japanese, tries it's hardest to keep new content away from anyone interested in it. I love MMD, A LOT, but in the end all I want is to have fun and wank one out with a satisfying video, and these people somehow turned something so simple into a drama festival with secret clubs and shit.

As the other poster suggested, look for nopan videos on iwara. There are even a few artists that seem to cater almost exclusively to that style of video.

As for the vids with spastic camera motions, there's not an easy way to screen those out other than watching them, but you'll likely find a few artists that prefer to use smoother camera motions in their vids.

Cheers. And yeah, I found one such artist right away, but their choice in camera angles and dancing seems misguided to me, still. It's not the extremely perverted every frame is an upskirt from behind type thing I expected- it was mostly normal dancing with some upskirts. It was ok. If you like aspects of their work, but feel it could be improved, you could try leaving a comment on their videos about what you liked or what you think could be improved. Alternately, you could try sending them a private message at the site.

I've been on both sides of that, receiving constructive criticism from viewers of my work, and offering it to others, and most times it has resulted in a good discussion. Without feedback, it's hard to know what to do to improve.

I won't rebuke someone's work then say they're bad person for having created it when they may not've known reason to be any different... but, it's hard. Of course, there's a big difference between saying their work sucks compared to offering some insightful criticism of their work, and trying to offer suggestions on how it might be improved. Try to be tactful.

Also, be aware that some issues someone might like to see done differently could be impacted by technical limitations of the models or effects, or they might be overly time-consuming or difficult to produce.

I do use quicker camera angles and I try to match the action to the music - much of the camera is the basic motion but I do tweak it when I think it is a bit too much/too little. This conversation has made me rethink things a bit.

It seems as if this kind of quicker and tempo matched camera movement is sought after. Looking at other successful videos also confirms this as well as looking at some suggestions on the Iwara forums; I would like to appease as many people as possible - not a small minority!

I have yet to receive any suggestions other than to use a guy and a dick! Someone said they don't like the clothing - but that doesn't really help me identify an alternative or something that person WOULD like...

I thought it was pretty good! You made me realize, actually, I don't even have "criticism" to raise, in that way. I just wanna propose my understanding of the meta behind some of the choices you made.

The entire reason I love no panties fetishism is, it's employed logic that respects my values in at least that context. So nothing else considered, I see it, it's like, yes! After deciding you fancy the negative space contrary to you that is clothing, you decided to keep it just that- negative space- not a modifier through which one sees you. The bondage gear between the breasts change that.

You go from "you can see me" to "I let you see me". I dislike it since it isn't considering you good, respecting your good, and extrapolating from it to create clothing for you- it's saying now you shall see me through these tinted glasses. I find it misguided. Crotchless panties are the same thing, to me.

That aside, it was really fun all around. It's easily one of my favorite MMDs I've seen so far (in my limited exposure to them, but still!). The skirt was a little high, since part of the appeal could be to have it sit high on the ass itself so even though you see all of it, that inch or so of cloth means you can't confirm she's not wearing any (panties) from some really obscene angles. But this isn't the beach episode of an anime. Teasing doesn't really matter, and cherrypicking specific angles isn't possible in videos, with the movement compromising it, and all. Plus, lower skirts give less creative freedom to see relevant aspects of the body through a camera.

Also, the dancing. The only really submissive pose and action is to show your back and bend over, so everything else is representative of that, within the range of normalcy, or obscene from being "left" of that, such as when she opens her legs wide. High-action dancing is so engaging in itself it is "left" without being sexually obscene.

Custom camera motions with different angles and cuts that line up the position(s) of the character(s) for different parts of the song (i.e. verse vs chorus) works well.

On the other hand, rapid camera movements or quick cuts are exactly the type of spastic camera motion that should be avoided. Too much of that is a recipe for giving the viewer a headache.

Part of the allure of the nopan style is the tease it provides. Combine a short skirt with certain types of dance moves and the appropriate camera angles, and a video can be pure gold for those that like that style.

You mention that "cherrypicking specific angles isn't possible in videos", but I beg to differ. When I create a nopan video, I create custom camera motions that very much attempt to cherrypick viewing angles to emphasize the tease. However, just focusing on lewd low angle camera shots during the entire video can end up greatly reducing the tease factor. Instead, mixing in other normal/non-lewd views can heighten the overall tease effect of the video.

Your comment about skirt length is an issue for certain models, but several models feature skirt lengths that work well for nopan vids. Also, a few models even feature sliders that let you change the skirt length. At one time, the bigger issue was finding models with lewd parts, but lewd versions of models have become more widely available.

As for the dancing, most artists are likely using pre-made motions, and asking someone to alter those motions, even slightly, can be non-trivial. Creating or modifying motions or models are skills that some of us can only dream of.

I have a slightly different view on the bondage gear. For me it says that she is putting forth just a bit more effort to look as lewd as possible for you - hearts and all! I often find that women in a corset or in slight bondage emphasis their features rather than take away from them.

I am a bit confused on your view of the skirt - if it were to be longer, wouldn't that a add to the "I let you see me" mentality? I tried to make it almost as small as possible so It was not ruining any views and just added a sort of erotic sense to the outfit - "I'm wearing this for your pleasure". Also a longer skirt introduces more wonky clipping issues - more so than what I have already - and some wonky physics if the model is bent/crouched.

I think I will rework some of the pans/angles and released a V2.

Also it's not an official TDA model as TDA doesn't like nude models.

Don't worry about it. It's just a simple program that corrupts the pmx header for you so you don't have to do it manually. Same thing people have already been doing to try and "lock" model editing. It's a non-issue.

im using Raymmd 1.3 for rendering, as the game is supposed to be pseudo-photorealistic, but i dunno how to adjust the Shadow tone, it looks pitch black, i tried to mess with a lot of options, but i still got this black shadow, is this normal?

as for your questions, they're kinda vague, I could write a few paragraphs of what you need.

short version you need mmd, mme and resources[models/stages/motions/music/effects]

if you have enough 3d know how, you can make all your resources yourself. it will just take a lot of time.

if you borrow resources from others, you'll need to play nice with them. or have thick skin and basic puzzle solving skills/Japanese understanding.

It would help to know what you're trying to do. If you just want to make generic MMD videos with a clothed, semi-clothed or naked model, it's not relatively easy to get started. There are some sites that feature a lot of models to pick from, other sites with motions, and so forth.

If you want to do something more complex, then it may require a lot more effort, time or talent.
