At risk of sounding petty, I have to disagree with this "exact-size method".

Now obviously these are just fictional drawings and the scale is based on whatever the creator imagines, but if we're trying to establish a concrete measurement system I can't help but feel I know a better one.

First of all, to make a measurement system you need some kind of base. Considering this program was originally created purely as a k-on dress up game, plus the facts that Yui is the main character of k-on and that she's the median girl in terms of height, I believe she's the best possible base point to start at.

Yui is canonically 156 cm tall, or 5 feet and 1.4 inches. Yet by the method shown in the OP (seen left) she stands nearly 8 whole inches taller than that. All the k-on girls are similarly off. The settings I've come up with (seen right) are much more accurate to her and all the k-on characters known heights. Those settings being to set the chart to size 83 and elevation 595, and the character depth to 500.

If whoever came up with the left method has any kind of information they based it off of I'd like to see it, but it's just sort of looking like randomly made up guesses to me.

I'm the one anon that passed the knowledge of the chart and some of the measurements to the anon who made the tutorial I think, but I'm not the one who came up with it. He wanted some way to measure her character, so I gave two sets of measurements, one of which was yours I guess? I don't know which one is more accurate so I gave both.

I'm guessing the anon who made the tutorial went with the first set of measurements. Can't fault him for that, because I found myself comfortable with that one as well, even if it's not 100% accurate. Can't remember who came up with it, honestly.

I can't make the characters armless but if you mess around with the import code to make the shoulders as small as possible and then position the arms behind the back, you can make your character look armless.

Removing limbs takes monkeying around with the codes. The following code strings are from an earlier version of the game, but they still work as a quick cheat mode for removing limbs properly by overloading the placement data on relevant sections of limbs.

The first one produces the far left girl, which removes all the limbs and leaves voids. The second leaves rounded bumps. The third leaves the leg bumps but voids the arms. The fourth I made here is the third code and you go into the height section, unlink the leg height from general height, and slide the bar around to get it to reset. Same process to get arms back by monkeying with the shoulder width slider.

This one makes a head-only version of the girl. The general height slider alters head size, and it can be reset by again monkeying with the sliders. This works for making the anime girl kigurumi mask things, or proper dullahans or what have you.

The stumps are the arms and legs, I believe. So whatever you're doing to color your arms (probably some shenanigans with the tan pattern part, since you can specify colors and such. Or maybe some of the stockings in the case of the legs?) should affect the color of the stumps.

I'm gonna textdump some older code-alteration stuff that I saved. Each section of the code controls different things. The divisions of what happens is that each of the letters followed immediately by numbers.

Example:

ca57 and cb0 are sections of the code. You can turn off the sections in the export code part and it'll alter the code accordingly so you can find particular sections to monkey with.

On one of my saves the hair was misaligned even though the two layers should have been identical and had the same data. Even copy/pasting from one body to the other didn't correct it.

However, I loaded another save, which looked right, and then reloaded the original one and it was back to normal. It looks like it might just be a bug on initial load with some savefiles.

So I decided to try something besides making RPG-esque fantasy characters and took the more classic /e/ route of just making a normal human woman with all the effort put into the face and hair instead of weapons and armor and magic.

That was pretty fun too, and I've come to appreciate the various tricks and styles people of these threads have pioneered.

What's weird about this bug is that it's inconsistent. No two hair bits move in the same direction in the same amount. One will veer off to the left three notches, another will go downwards eleven.

I didn't delete the cookies or browser history in any way, at least not manually. I do have a lot of them saved as .txt but not all. And the ones that are saved are from a few versions ago, so are lacking a lot of the updated features.

You can use a small section of speech bubble tail (shape 4 works best) combined with the prop to make it look inserted, just make sure the two objects are the same color.

I don't remember the exact values (since I forgot to save her), but if you position the arms just right over the breasts (which is a bit more difficult at max size), they'll press them in; this still works even if the arms are set to invisible out-of-bounds values.

Yes the layer order is very buggy at the moment. It looks like ribbons 1-10 have reversed their order if they were already placed, ruining 100% of saves :(

As you say, ribbons 11-99 appear to follow that "turned on first, layers on top" rule, which makes doing editing pretty much a trial and error process. Very frustrating

What I am about to say is sort of a suggestion, but more of a did you mean to do this. All of the girls have the same nipple size and type at 1. They also have the same size vagina at 2 and all have hair. If I were you I would make them a little different naked, and make more than some of the girls hairless(personal preference I guess) So is this just something you have not gotten to yet, or is it something that you do not care about? The design just looks a little different than normal stuff. Also they sparked the great nose debate of last thread which is thankfully over. I think the characters you are referring to look kind of glossy and shinier than stuff that I make or see on a regular basis. They absolutely do not look basic. If you spend time looking at kisekae stuff anywhere for an extended period of time than you know what basic is, and this is not that. But my preferences aren't even supposed to be the main point here. This place is full of refugees from other porn boards who fap to furry futa diaper porn so I try not to expect too much of the average persons tastes. The main issue here is I don't see why people care so much about this "project" considering so many factors. First of all, dozens of people over the years through these threads have said they're working on some kind of RPG or VN or whatever using kisekae made images as art and to this date I can't think of a single one that ever delivered anything. Considering this guy took an entire month to perform a few minor alterations I'm more certain than ever that nothing will come of this. And even if something comes out of it, what makes anyone assume it'll be good? The characters are all standing in the same generic pose with the same generic expression doing absolutely nothing. The only description he can offer are extremely short bare bones copy pasted anime cliches. They don't even have names. And some of them don't even make sense. As I thought last thread and someone else recently pointed out here, whose aunt is she? Is she just everones aunt? Who are the other girls tsundere or dandere for? Admittedly, it's possible this "project" could be some kind of VN or similar style thing with an as of yet unrevealed main character and thats whose aunt she is, but I can't help but suspect he just wanted an aunt girl and forgot to bother thinking that she actually needs to be related to someone.

There are, or there were, a few people who made original stories and characters here, which I wouldn't call fan fiction, but these usually get ignored or bullied in favor of single pictures that most likely took hours to make and can't even be posed around because of all the extra shit put on top of it.

At one point I put together a story with a series of pictures, and given that I'm not a writer I didn't think it was particularly amazing (it was mostly an excuse to give context to the pics), but both doing the writing and the kisekae pics to go with it took a decent amount of time. I just focus on doing single pics now because I just find it more fun in general to try and game the kisekae engine to see what I can come up with. (And I like seeing what other people do with it, as it gives me more ideas.) But in short, sometimes doing little stories and simplified pics to go with them takes just as much time and effort as piecing together a complicated hairstyle so while I don't really have a personal interest in stories much I don't discount the effort people put into them even if they are a little basic. Everybody has to start somewhere.

Some of my earlier kisekae stuff is pretty damn simple looking, but it was part of the learning process. I have made changes to my look along the way as I figured out more how to do things with code editing, partially from comments people made on why things looked "off" and partially from seeing the neat tricks others had come up with. In general, though, if I like something I made and someone else doesn't, well... that's just opinion and I don't care that much because I mostly just make things I like and post them if I think they look decent.

As I said, everybody has to start somewhere, and nobody's first attempts are going to be spectatular. It's part of the learning process. I just kind of look at the /e/ thread as a "throw it at the wall and see if it sticks" sort of thing for anyone posting here, kind of a scratch pad to see what kind of comments (if any) come from it. It's 4chan, so there will always be a "GTFO" vibe at times but if you've been around long enough you just learn to look past the crap.

A few years ago we did some research on this subject. Back then default Yui was actually default, so she was the base with the settings from before all the newer body part customizations were added. I also found that the game makes the k-ons too tall and their heights are out of proportion to one another. Even worse, there was some sort of perspective applied to the game, so measuring sticks didn't work perfectly vertically.

The alternative method was using the height slider as centimeters and adding 100 to it while keeping everything else old default.

Eventually settings of size 84, vertical position 596 emerged for that height chart using the Yui method, which almost perfectly matches your results. There's a note about settings of 78/580 for the 100+slider method, which probably wasn't tested as well as the first method, and either way, measurements became less accurate as heights got more extreme.

The bottom line is

Not that there's anything inherently wrong with cliches if they're used well. I'm aware that a similar situation has been done to death, but in this case it's not a misunderstanding or anything that can be solved by sitting down and talking (I hate that in fiction) and I hinted at this in the last panel. They're also perfectly aware of how they feel towards each other and said so openly before.

My intent was to show that Natsuko's upringing and pride is causing her to be unhappy. Not sure how well I did on that front though, heh. I also felt like Taki was underdeveloped in comparison and needed some soul searching.

Hmm, I can see the intent now. But I guess other sources of media have done this sort of trope before that kind of soured it for me. It also reminds me of that one flaw animes tend to do where there's an issue between two people that could easily be alleviated by talking about it, yet they don't talk about their issue! This does remind me of that one flashback in Justice League Unlimited, where the Batman Beyond Batman tells his longtime girlfriend that because of who he is, he has to cut his ties with her to keep her safe from him (seeing as he called himself 'poison' because being Batman kinda sucks). And taking the time to think about this situation, it does remind me of that scene--in its bare essence anyway.

I ended up redoing mine to look similar, but with fewer pieces. I would do simpler noses but my characters have kind of an angular look to them, so a cute round bulb such as the ones Mouse or Buford makes, which looks good on their girls, just doesn't work contextually with my girls.

Looks like they noticed what happened when you have 99 friggn hair parts on a single character and reduced it to 30, which basically broke several of my recent saves. It was kinda nice being able to make stuff like with all the hair parts on one character.

Elemental magic was just the go-to. I imagine her using nondescript beams/orbs of light that act as pure force. She also knows some healing magic, but I kinda put a damper on it (most settings it's sort of a cure-all, but all it does here is stop bleeding, soothe pain, and undo magic-based afflictions - broken bones stay broken, damaged tissue stays damaged). I completely agree that the element trio is overused, I just went with the easiest thing to paint a picture with.

In that first blue tab (where you switch characters on and off), a collection of "default" clothes for popular characters has been added.
(However, this obviously totally overwrites your own clothes settings without any "Undo" button, like all "Set" options - so be careful!)

"random changes" - no idea. Maybe some translation error, actually meaning "some minor changes I didn't feel the need to write down in detail" ...


Also, all this back and forth about additional items has really messed up my saves. All facemarks are on random new slots, like "actually just reverse, but I always skipped those you happened to have set invisible for some reason, so you definitely won't find anything where you left it".

Most but not all belts seem to reset to some random "home" position and variation on every load/import and I still have no idea about the actual systematics behind that.

Am I the only one? Should I have done an export, and deleted all ingame saves and cache and whatever at some very distinct point of transition? I've done that just some minutes ago, but it didn't help (anymore).

Oh wow, I feel dumb now. I went straight to the clothing stuff and I didn't notice at all. Anyway, it's kind of neat.
There's a set of bras you can select, too.
It'd be better if you could save a specific set of clothing you put together, but I guess we can already do that by switching to another "scene", so... kind of superfluous.

The belt thing is weird, I had no problems at all. Some of my characters have belts and have been around since before the whole additional items thing. Same with facemarks.

I know that Pochi just tried to restore the old layering order, and I unfortunately didn't export those characters I was trying out new stuff with right before "that" update, so they all went asleep with about 20 facemarks "on" and about 10 in "not good yet, lets try something else in another slot" invisibilty, but at least I tried to stick to some logical sorting like "left side - odd number, right side - even number", "all things nose are between 11 and 18" and so on. Now all facemarks have moved to completely different slots, depending on if they were set visible or not that night.

There is no way to easily copy/paste between slots on the same tab and character, is there? Tried it once and didn't work ...
Guess I have to start from scratch again.

I got a little further about the belts btw: only ingame saves are affected, and only those belts that are set invisible (which has never been a problem before, those were always kept properly).
Those on bottom layer and/or "within body outlines" show up at vertical position 888, and those on top layer and/or "any postion" at 533.
Also, on the first one I try to "open", the shape/length option is usually reset to 01, but not always.

Also, all "ribbons" still aren't loaded to their proper positions, unless head tilt was set to 50. If head is tilted, they always load as if it is.
This affects both ingame saves and imports (and can still be easily solved by tilting the head one click). So just a minor issue anyway.

The other poster is right, I edited the export code to make the head size really tiny (I don't know the exact number, I think it was -60, but I'll have to double check later).

However, if you just edit the head, the shoulders, chest, and hips look way too wide, so all of those were set to -10 or -20 as well.
