Technical question about MMD itself:
Since the god awful default camera centers and rotates around a singular point, is there anyway to actually move that point. or to have the camera rotate around a model?

I ask because I'm going to have multiple models moving around a stage, and moving far from each other, and even above and below. Having the camera rotational-ly bound to the center of the axis is terrible for getting the small details with having to constantly shift the perspective and zoom (Sometimes holding ctrl is not enough for the most distant points.)

You're right that it's "spinning" though I've never seen anything of this complexity. Usually such thing are employed for something as simple as, I dunno, making a drill spin or something like that. And here it motions whole damn model.

Bone under her feet in picture related is one that you can turn to "yank" her about. Doesn't seem like you can stop this effect though. It may be possible to control this effect with some slider but... since this model has a whopping 475 sliders it might take a minute to find the right one.

I recall that some Japanese dude once released, and I quote "breathe unit" mod. I never managed to get it to working but perhaps this is it? I have no idea.

Also I've noticed that there's bunch of bodies spawned over her head once you load or reinitialize the model that just fall down and don't seem to do much beyond that. Any idea what's that for? You can see it in picture related as well.

They corrupt the pmx header. MMD ignores the header but other software such as pmxeditor or the blender import script will balk if the header is bad. Just open the pmx file in a hex editor and open a good pmx file and compare the first 10 or so bytes. Copy the bytes from the good pmx file and you should be good to go.

get a camera effect that splits the screen with different view angles. this helps negate the need to move the camera around to see if something looks wierd or clips

learning how the interpolation curve works, helps make the motion look more fluid.

learn how to do idle movement, blinking,breathing and how much every human part can bend.
basicaly observe a human and take notes how individual parts move.

Did you only start watching MMD videos yesterday or something? Like 80% of motions in MMD are made through tracing video backdrops. Just look at videos on Nico with the tag MMDモーショントレース (MMD Motion Trace). There's even an MMD event (kind of like the MMD Cup) dedicated specifically to motion tracing called the "Motion Trace Party".

P.S. Motion capture is shit for MMD, which is why so few people actually use it for making motions.

Yes, you have to do everything bone by bone. It helps if you start making the motion from just the center bone for about 10~20 frames, and adjust the other bones accordingly based on how you want the model to move.
If you're not going to distribute the motion, you can also try adjusting the camera so that certain parts you're having trouble with are hidden from view.

How are you guys downloading the high quality FLVs from nicodouga now?

DownloadHelper2 borks the flv and can't finish downloading it. Jdownloader doesn't seem to recognize nico accounts anymore. Other common nicodouga downloaders such as nicofox only seem to download a lower quality mp4 instead of the fully quality flvs.
