Welp, I don't know shit about wood haha.
It was an offcut at the hardware store with ~60x50cm for 2 Euro.
With not-cheap I was thinking of some nice solid wood instead of plywood.

If you don't want plywood to look like plywood, you need to add veneer strips to the edges where you can see the lamination.
