What glue do you recommend for ceramic/pottery repair?
And any other tips would also be appreciated.

There's so many different types, is there a specific type to buy?

Cyanoacrylate. Epoxy works, but tends to be more visible.

Try yellow wood glue.

Thank you.
Those were my two choices.

Be sure to get a thin layer on each side of the break (use brush on superglue if you can get it), then let it dry before you do your final glue together. The pre-coat will fill the pores of the ceramic, giving the actual join a significantly stronger base upon which to glue against (reads, your adhesive won't be absorbed by the job before it sets)

No shit huh? I figured the glue would soak in the first time. Brush I'm assuming is a throwaway. Now, does that two coat thing work just on porous materials or is it good for other surfaces as well?
And thanks for your help thus far.

It will, but it will do it before the glue sets. Capillary action would normally let the glue fill the gaps uniformly but when the materials to be bonded are sucking it away you end up with holes in the join, which is less than ideal. A sealing coat will help with any porous surface, from cardboard to wood to (non-organic, because fire hazard) fabrics. It's the same reason peeps use a wood sealer before they paint soft timbers like pine; You don't want your job sucking away all your covering or you'll use three times more than you need and likely get a shitty result because of it.

Sorry, should have been clearer, superglue with a brush applicator like pic related. I haven't used a tube for years, brush allows precise, thin and even application, much better than a tube IMO, and lasts longer because it can be stored upright.

I'd try this first and then epoxy if it cracks again.
