Please help with concise directions on wiring in Bluetooth and custom keymapping programming code (ie momentary press layer) to Hand Wired Mechanical Keyboards with Teensy.

Forums are inundated with embarassing toy keycaps and digressions about gold springs.

Would love simple diagrams and videos of what to wire where for Bluetooth onto a teensy and examples of coding options.

Thank you Do It Yourself / No Nonsense / Geniuses

Is this a substitute for a Teensy? My board only has 11 switches. Can I go even cheaper?

why not just take apart a thrift-store keyboard that has the functionality you want, and recreate the matrix with your own keys?

I still haven't seen anything as simple as a Teensy wired to a Bluefruit (with battery) in a hand wired board. Until I see that I'm thinking there must be more to it.

Bluetooth Mechanical Hand Built is a LIE.

>>913444
Look on geekhack for the guy who made the hhkb bluetooth module he will probably be more help than us.

Lies. Posting fairytale magic voodoo frankenstein keyboard on that Laotian Typewriter Chatroom.

Everyone on Greekhack is about $400 JarJar keycaps and using Cheetos as ear plugs.

If nobody can point to simple Teensy to Bluefruit wiring then I'm saying it just ain't so. Prove me wrong. Anywhere, show me some actual video of the build in action.

you seem to be in over your head
why did you buy the stuff if you didn't know what you were doing or how to do it?

I didn't buy any bluetooth components. I'm just saying - Show me exactly what I need and how to wire it up.

I've hand wired a 60% and programmed it.

It would be cool to have more emphasis on interesting programming options.
>>
>>916103
No, fuck you. Do your own work.

Bluetooth HID is just USB HID, except over Bluetooth. Look at the Linux driver stack: Bluetooth HID has no actual HID drivers in it, just some glue code that passes through to the USB ones.

no dude
don't taint my beautiful loli boards with this fuckery
the board is called /diy/ - do it yourself
so do, and let us know how it goes
figure out what whichever chips need what as input and give what as output and make it work
you won't find anyone who has done this already though because bluetooth is stupid

Yeah, /di_y_/.

The reviews of actual use on this unit and the other are not positive, especially with anything beyond cheap simple keyboards. I`ve checked Amazon and Massdrop.

Adafruit make a variety of backpack units for ATmega chip based boards but none for a Teensy or Teensy clone. I`ve contacted them to see what they recommend.

I'll report back but thought there would be more support on this forum. >>913463
Hoping you report back with success on your build.

Bump for interest.

So?

You wanted proof that USB and Bluetooth are the same thing, and you can bridge them by copying packets.

You got proof that USB and Bluetooth are the same thing, and you can bridge them by copying packets.

Hey Samefag - bluetooth wired up to a teensy working in an actual hand wired programmable board.

Show anything less or STFU troll.

See what >>913463 is putting together to almost get there. He gets it. You don't.
>>
>>916952
lel

I'm not doing bluetooth - I know nothing about bluetooth.
The keyboard itself is just going to house the BeagleBone so it's a stand alone laptop thing I can take with me, as well as being my desktop"s keyboard when home and I plug it in.
>>
>>916966
lel was about pic related which I apparently forgot
>>
>>916966
>>916967
Ooops, just getting lots of trolling so I lumped an extra in there I guess. Sorry.

What you're doing building off a Beaglebone is really cool. I'm much more into that than colour keycaps and sparkling LEDs. The aesthetics have really taken over from the practical hardware and programming side of things in the community.

I bet nobody's up and running a bluetooth build of their own.
>>
>>916952
If an off-the-shelf product can do it, that means it can be done by a general-purpose computer.

If you can't make a general-purpose computer do it, that means you're stupid.

If you want me to do it for you, you'll need to stop being so salty and get your wallet out.

Bluetooth is overrated. Maybe just use a cool cable.
