Hey guys, I think it is fair to assume a number of you work in the manufacturing industry.
I am curious what other companies have as their block tolerance.
Where I work-
X.X is +-.080"
X.XX is +-.040"
X.XXX is +-.010"
bend angles are +-2deg
As a newbie tooling designer I feel that our bend tolerance is pretty weak. Thoughts?

2 deg is quite a lot
Depends on what you are making, the gas guys I have worked with (high pressure industrial gases) used +-0.5deg but they were often dealing with big lengths of heavy pipe so had to be close.

XX=.010"
XXX= .005"
2° on angles is pretty common tho
If you want to piss off the real magic makers then try 2°45' +0 -15'

Btw OPs tolerances are reminscient of a muffler shop
Bolt circle diameters and angles are better suited for architects and civil engineers
If its a critical feature, always use an X Y dimensioning scheme
All dimensions +-.005"
surface flatness to 1/10 wave at 632nm
Depends on what the customer wants.
Stuff like fan shrouds, wheels, etc are all +/-.005 usually.
Something like a bathtub surround is 'make sure it's vaguely straight and flat,' usually +/-.08
