This guys asking for $75.
How would you /diy/ this as cheap as possible?
My first idea: strip of addressable rgb LEDs, RaspberyPi, HDMI splitter, HDMI input board for Pi, small program to drive LEDs
Thoughts? Your input?

you can do this with an arduino nano too, total cost should be like 30 bucks or less

dumb as shit
HDMI board cost as much as a Pi. Are there any Pi clones that support HDMI input?

Just buy R, G and B photodiode and point it to the screen. Program arduino to follow colors.
