I just moved into a tiny one room apartment. I sleep right next to a mini fridge and the noice drives me nuts. I'm connected to a storage cubby that I figure I can put the compressor in and keep the fridge where it's at. Is this possible/practical? Thank you. Pic not related.

No. Not unless you have all the parts available cheaply.
You'd have to break the lines, run the extensions, insulate them and refill with refrigerant. Plus you would lose efficiency I bet.
Be easier to put the whole fridge in a vented box. Or a get a new one. You can try and dampen the compressor noise by insulating it or tightening the bolts but I bet it won't solve it. Usually the noise is from worn internal parts.
Just my opinion. I'm probably gonna get memed for this post.

Just get some earplugs

Fill all unused space with bottled water. Switch it off while you sleep.

Either get a timer to cut the power during the night, or put a fan between yourself and the fridge to generate white noise if you also want to drown out the neighbors. Disassembling the fridge would end with you throwing out the fridge.

Thanks for the great reply. This all makes sense to me.

I love this idea. I will try it today. Simple and effective, thank you.

I'm going to try the timer. I even have one pack away somewhere, but I brain froze and didn't think of it myself. I love this place.
