And the original with it's metallic grandbaby. So, /diy/, how'd I do?
>>1226835
The pitting was present in the casting before the buffing work. The wax I used wasn't 100% hot when I made the positive so some bubbles formed.
Nice! Now cast it in silver and I'll buy 10.

Thanks. Funny you said that, that's actually one of my plans (longer term.) Once I get my technique down, that is.

You can't cast silver this way. You need a spinning centrifuge. Also you need to flux/degas your aluminum more to make it smoother casting.
>>1226852
So, you're saying that you can't cast silver using lost wax? Since when?
>>1226853
Since always? But by all means. Waste your time.

Interesting. You might want to tell all these guys on Youtube that what they did, well, they didn't actually do it.

Yeah perfect example. Wearing a metal necklace and flip flops around molten metal and high voltages. You sure showed me...
>>1226858
Strawman much? Op says lost wax and gracity cast for silver. You say nuh uh, cot to use centrifuge (I prefer that myself, smoother finished work, less grinding and shit.) Op posts video of someone doing a gravity pour. You change the subject to safety violations.
Tl:dr, Op wins
As to Op, did you intend for that piece to look beaten and weathered like that? Definitely fits the fallout theme.

Anon. Build u a proper foundry with kast-o-lite 3000 and go nuts. Clay graphite crucible and tools also.

KEK.
He doesnt have burns from "an unfortunate smelting accident."
