Hey /diy/, first time homeowner. Anyways, part of my house has these old stained/leaded glass windows. The bay they're in needs to be reframed but until I get to that point I'd like to seal up these openings that have come from the window shifting. Can I just fill them with glazing putty for a temporary fix?
I've got a friend that works with glass for a living who's going to refit them when we do the reframe and just want to make sure that I don't do anything that will make her job more difficult. I can't really remove them right now either so I'm just looking for a band-aid fix for a month or two.
Here's the gap in the stained pane.
The bottom panes aren't stained but there's a little gap on this one too. I just have no experience with antique glass and want to make sure I can seal this up without hurting anything until we can pull them out to clean and reframe.
And here's the gap on the bottom portion.

I just used this on my windows this past winter. It works just as well as caulk. Most of complaints are about removing paint but that won't be a problem for you if you're refinishing the windows.

Thanks Anon, applied some of this yesterday and it's working fine so far. Hopefully it'll come off easy in a few months when we get the windows redone.
