I have been on a rather stupid bout of wanting to create a tarot card sized card deck or a really fancy book that both involve a lot of gold use. Wording in gold, gold edging, gold for parts of imagery, whatever. Problem is I have no knowledge on this type of work as it popped in my head suddenly, just an odd drive that I really want to make some extremely high quality gold things.
Does anyone know how to go about messing with gold like this or general tips on it?

Oh that's a nice idea. Check out gold leaf, easy to get into, tough to master :-)

The pro's add a shot of black. Calling card for a true professional

Very lazy use of this meme. Many such cases. No effort put into plausibility. Sad!

Gold leaf is seriously awkward to use for that kind of precision work. If you just want something easy to write with and fill in between lines, your best bet is liquid leaf or other metallic acrylic inks. They won't give you quite the same finish, but if you're half decent at calligraphy or fine-detail painting you can achieve a good effect.

This guy has it right. Gold leaf is great, but if you're looking to do illumination style writing, it'd be better to use gold tone or gold infused paints and a fine brush.
