Depending on the wood and your area you can just leave it outside for a month or two. I live in the south and I can age cedar practically overnight by just leaving it on the roof of my workshop.

Old timey (19th century) antiquing was done by getting some lumps of coal, rocks and stuff like that, put the board on it, jump up and down a few times, maybe drag it across a few times with some weight on it
