what kind of hinge would you put on a top opening box like this. or a similar box. dimensions are: H:25cm, W:25cm, L:40cm

I don't know how these are called in English, they are called "invisible hinges" over here.
They are good because they can't be seen from outside when the lid is closed, if you are interested in keeping a clean look.
They come in all kinds of shapes and sizes so you won't have problems fitting one to your box
