I bought an Amiga monitor and it looks great but it has issues. The screen will sporadically get brighter and darker while I'm playing and I have no idea why. Happens on both s video and composite, and aside from that it works perfectly. Anyone know what its issue might be?

Inspect all capacitors for signs of bulging or damage. Replace capacitors, starting with the dodgiest looking ones.

Sounds like a dry solder joint somewhere to me.. probably somewhere around the flyback transformer.

Dont forget to discharge the 2nd anode before you go poking around in there
