Hey /diy/, I had this rubber tip stylus pen but I lost it a while ago. I'd like to make one.
It seems to be a simple rubber on the tip of the pen, but I don't know the exact type of rubber which is used. (It is not eraser rubber, I've tested)
So any ideas for doing this?
They give those away for free over here. Try attending a mid-range conference or seminar.

any conductive plastic would work

Actually, I got this pen I had at a conference, but it was a foreign conference, from the US
I live in a really simple 3rd world city, so waiting for a conference or seminar is a no-no
Also, it's so isolated that I would have to order a pen from another city, and fuck no

Even in the 3rd world they sell cheap chink phone stuff like cases and chargers. Hell ive even been to Mexico and they sell everything there. So unless you live in some african village i bet you can buy one of those in some market.

You're looking for something called capacitive rubber. Sponge may also work. It should be the size of your last stylus tip.

I did this same project back in 2008, and the soft, non-scrubby part of a scotch-brite sponge is conductive enough to work. Just cut a thin slice and wrap it over a stick. Although if I'm being perfectly honest, it's probably a waste of time because people hand these out like candy right now. You don't even have to wait for a conference, a lot of hotels and other businesses hand out pens with a stylus on the tip.
