If you live near a big college campus they sometimes have stockpiles of busted up chairs you could use for parts, or even find a fairly intact one. Or just pay a kid with crippling student-loan debt a few bucks to steal you a brand new one.

If it was one, I'd suggest buying a replacement part but at this point buy a whole new chair.
