Am I doing it right?
No.
Maybe.
I don't know, can you repeat the question?
Connect all grounds and use a DPDT
>>1212946
Won't there be a ground loop?
>>1212844
You're not the boss of me now
>>1213144
well a ground loop requires an actual loop. is there continuity between shield of rca and the earth/ground of any of the devices? what about continuity to neutral?
>>1213144
If you think there might or could be, add switches to lift the grounds.
>>1213462
But isn't it more simple to do my scheme?
>>1213465
yes absolutely if you can find the switch then build it who cares the cost difference will be negligible?
why even waste time asking here?
but it would only fix ground loop problems if both outputs were ground ref shields creating a loop where the switch cuts the loop. if the input and either output is ground ref shield then cutting the ground to the unused output won't stop a ground loop in the selected position.

Why not get some op amps (TL084 would work) and set them up for unity gain buffers so you can run both headphones and speakers at the same time?
