I have a nice tabletop. I want to make a sitting to standing desk. I lift so I have no qualms lifting and lowering the tabletop with all the shit myself. Was thinking of just attaching plastic tubes to the underside of the tabletop for a table of sitting height, and when I want to stand, to pick the whole thing up and insert it into more plastic tubes that will provide me with a standing desk. See attached pic.
I realize this is probably a shit idea but I want a standing desk and don't have much money.

I built a standing desk and was amazed at how much it hurts to stand there for a few hours when I can work all day long standing up and walking and climbing ladders and feel great. I've heard other people say this.
Not to discourage standing, but maybe it works better if you combine it with a lot of walking.
I gave up on mine and once per hour I stand up and do a 5 minute workout of some sort.

Try standing on a diy pseudo balance board. That way you constantly sorta move and it actually makes it much easier to stand. I can find a pic if you are interested.

It's an easymodo one, but the one I have (an actual balance board I was gifted) is little more than a wooden oval with stoppers on top of a plastic cylinder.

Nice and simple, and it makes sense. I know I tend to shift around in my chair a bit, and all night long I wake up and turn over periodically.
Thanks for the link.
