I have no idea why this shape is on my roof. I noticed it when I was cleaning put my gutters. Any ideas?

You need a new roof my friend. They are breaking down and starting to curl. Happens when the tar bond strip breaks down and also happens as the shingle degrades from heat. Price out some good 30 year shingles. Or go with standing seam metal.

Do you know if the roof hasn't always looked like that? Because to me it looks like the roofer installed the shingles with poor spacing and the rows aren't overlapping enough.
