I've looked online for how to buy a custom made 3'5" flag and they're hovering around $150.
My design is two colors only. Would anyone know where to start on making one by hand? I can't imagine it's as expensive to DIY as it is to buy. I was thinking screen printing but I'm open to ideas.

Do you have a sewing machine?
Are you willing to buy a sewing machine? (Mine cost me right around $100.)
A couple yards of cloth won't cost too much.

Just look around. We got several for my company made up. Anywhere from $50 to $240 for us.

Okay, after doing some research I don't think making the actual flag out of cloth will be hard. What I'm worried about is getting the design on the flag. Is screen printing the only way? Here is my design.

Yeah. Get it screen/digitally printed. It's a solid background with text and a detailed seal on it. You'll want the text to be legible and the lines crisp and sharp, so you'll have a transfer a pattern by printing it on the fabric. Pretty much the most complicated shit you'll see on handmade modern flags are embroidery and if you're asking about how to do that, you're in over your head.

Just buy an orange blank flag and then have someone screen print it. There's a place in Rollo that'll do it.
