Just wondering if anyone has any tips, special knowledge or experience with permanently dyeing faux leather. It sounds simple: spray on and let it dry. Done. But I'm just wondering whether it rubs off, and also whether there might be some way to first treat the material making it absorbent somehow.
Bump. Anyone?
A quick google search yielded this.

If your faux leather is already dyed you may have a hard time getting it the color you want, as you can only dye to a darker color with the results being a mix of the original and the new color.

I used that stuff to spray a dashboard black. Did full tan to black interior conversion but didn't want to pull the dash so just painted it in place.
Worked well, take your time, tape shit off, many lighter coats worked for me. Unless I told people I did the conversion they had no idea.
