Can a grounding rod be installed under an accessible porch like this?
just use neutral for ground
>>1204136
If it's one of those six foot long rods you drive in with a sledge hammer it would be better to put it just outside the porch in a place where nobody is likely to trip over it and where it won't detract from the visual appeal of your house.
Surely, but why put a trip hazard in a primo rape-dungeon patio location?

Its a fucking ground rod.
You can bury the whole thing, you don't need 6 inches sticking up to bolt the ground wire to.
>>1204136
Can you lift a couple of those boards?
>>1204143
Obviously American.
>>1204136
You may, OP but it's better by your service entrance.
>>1204365
we're not all that stupid
Code doesn't specify that the grounding rod has to be accessible.
>>1204136
But why? You'd like it somewhere out of sight, then do >>1204338
Don't smash your porch and/or pry up boards for this
>>1204382
Depends on the day anon. Some can be reasonable. Others come up with stupid ass suggestions of using the neutral as a safety ground in North America which is clearly against nfpa 70e.
I suppose that anon will start arguing about how bonding is grounding as well.

This
But if you make it close to the service entrance he won't need alot of wire to reach the panel.
Just bury a ground plate, fuck pounding ground rods.

This works too.
>>1204784
nah bury a plate and a rod for extra safety
>>1204784
But who doesn't wanna pound?

Use a slide hammer or a hammer drill.
