I actully have a better pic of that hole, idk what it was supposed to be, but my 1/2" saddle had another 1/2" hole right next to it, these holes shaped an 8 and i had to fill the other one after i welded in that little pipe. It was a boundle of joy.

Op here, legit BWAAAAGH! tier welds, had my fair share of repairwork on other people's fucked up welds, but these I wouldn't touch. I would tell whoever wants me to weld them to get the fuck out of my life.

yeah, it's my boss actually because I had to carry on with the welding no matter the damn fountain just a meter away. I even reported it and they said deal with it. I fix holes in aircraft parts all the time.
Stupid new welders blow holes all the damn time, like big ones.
How fucking hard is it to run a bead down 0.006in plate.
So any Boeing or Airbus jet you have flown on, has parts that I fixed.

This is honestly why I don't fly anymore.
