Let's say you have a 180 degree fisheye lens which you need to completely cover with a DIY shutter assembly (can be 3D printed), while making sure the shutter and assembly stay completely out of the field of view. The shutter needs to be powered by a single servo motor.
Would this even be possible to do? How would /diy/ begin to design such a thing?

Nope, the ring containing the iris/aperture parts would be seen within the 180 degree field of view.
It would need to be some kind of assembly that flipped up from below the side of the lens. Likely not possible

Long story short, for redundancy.
I think something similar to your image might do the trick. Any suggestions on how I could make that type of shutter open and close with a single servo?
