Does anyone know what the "FU" or "FD" on the resistor stands for? I'm trying to fix my TV's mainboard but I can't seem to find these types of resistors anywhere. Pic related.

It's "FU" and it clearly means "fuck you".

How can someone be qualified to work on that and not be familiar with resistors?
I have to say, we get some first class trolls in here. Are you Australian?

We can say with a fairly high degree of confidence that the resistor is not the problem, and we can also say with a fairly high degree of confidence that OP doesn't know what he's doing.
Not necessarily a bad thing, but fumbling around in the dark like a retard is clearly crossing the line.

>FU
Fuck up
>FD
Fuck down

Yes. It's rated to be used as a failsafe fuse. It will fail by blowing cleanly instead of arcing, smouldering, or catching on fire.

[usually. On that thing it looks more like a logo.]
