Hey there.
Got a lot of old crayons. I want to melt them down and make new crayons and sell/give them to people at a garage sale. Problem is I can't seem to find any traditional crayon shaped mold anywhere.
Does anyone know where I can get some?
here I found a mold you can buy

Don't have one that's still hasn't been used yet?
Make your own mold.

Or he can ask for a crayon at a place that offers those drawing things with a kids meal and never return it

make one?
get a pipe, fill it, push out log, get the crayon out of the tube, cut, sharpen one end
or do the logical thing and take it to the next level; use legos for a mold and charge extra for that

Crayola actually made a thing for melting down old crayons.
You can usually pick them up on ebay for $20 give or take.

If your only making new crayons out of ones you find isn't that "lost wax casting"?

Ha! If that was sold today the teller couldn't let that leave their checkout without you flashing ID to prove you were over 18

Cast a crayon shape in silicone, then a positive cast in plaster. Lay out several plaster casts to make aluminum moulds.
Alternatively, make a plain cylinder of wax and then turn it on a lathe into individual crayons.

No, I wanted the colours to be black.

obvious answer is obvious. Make a mold to make tubes with 1/2" or 3/8" pvc pipe. cut to length, cap.
pour, use appropriate size dowels to push out of pipe when solid.
Then, sharpen in a crayon sharpener. toss shavings back in to color sorting to be remelted later.
real issue is making the paper wraps/grips look nice
