This thread got me thinking about making my own soap.
If this thread is somehow still alive in the 4 weeks it takes me to make my own carrot infused oil i'll post results.
didnt you guys make soap in high school as part of polymerisation studies?

That's where I learned to always have vinegar and baking soda in reach when doing anything. Even if you have a desk job, vinegar is useful for cleaning leaked battery crud out of a wireless mouse.

Join or start a Fight Club first. Soap making will be taught a few weeks later.

my chemistry teacher was crazy (good way). my lab partner and i were on good terms with the teacher so we used to do crazy stuff like that simple sodium in water experiment only with enough sodium to nearly deafen you instead of the wafer thin slice that fizzles. she also talked us through how to make meth at one point.

>implying my high school would cut enough budget from sports for us to afford soap material
>>1193852
so you have no check practicals?
>>1193658
You need about 6 billion jews.
>>1193658
You can sell it at a farmers' market for $8/bar. Make some that look like watermelon slices.
>>1193658
I want to eat those

NEWFAG BTFO! YES.
I just buy soap blocks from hobby lobby and they do sell soap scents and colors to mix in with your own.

What's a good mix for an exfoliating soap that won't make me smell like a bitch?
All the recipes seem to be geared towards women
>>1193932
it's in the same aisle as the activated almonds and chicken nuggers
>>1193658
Not worth making. There's always a spare bar on the floor in the locker room shower.

Carrot oil is super rich in vitamin A which is really good for your skin, also it gives you a light tan.

My favorite degreaser soap is HARSH
I use 85% coconut oil, and 15% olive oil, the requisite lye, and volcanic pumice to taste.
The extremely high coconut oil content produces a VERY hard bar of soap that strips oils readily. It lathers very well, but lacks body and thus the addition of olive oil. And the pumice acts as an abrasive.
When you make it do not do much of any superfatting if any at all (I calculate at 0.5%). The point of a degreasing soap is to cut as much grease and fat as possible. Having any extra oil in the bar just defeats the purpose.
DO NOT use this recipe as a daily use soap. all that coconut oil will make an incredibly drying bar of soap.

Try mixing in some fine black sea salt.

Go to YouTube search for Nile red. Guy does videos on chemistry and shit, his last two videos were about making liquid and normal bars of soap it'll tell you everything you want to know.

Step one
>Catch six shekelion j*ws
Step two
> magically turn them into soap
Bonus
>You will have plenty extra lamp shades
Here's a few different recipes an anon posted ages ago, had started up a little business or was trying to iirc.

>>1193678
>oil(acid)
If this was just a neutralisation reaction it wouldnt take heat and several hours. The acid would be the free fatty acids
>let the ashes and water distill for months
???????
Well OP... you're gonna need ein Jude

Does anyone have a good recipe for a daily moisturizing soap that also has pumice in it for exfoliation?
>>1193658
Human fat works best.
First, you have to pour lye onto the back of your hand. Then you have to know that some day you're going to die.
