Hey /diy/, how do you like my new bench?
Just fuck the inside of my knees up and garuntee warping within a week/10

8/10, would sit on.
Good idea would be to put some caps on bolt ends or turn them around. Scratching your legon them is not pleasant IMHO.
oh boy. not functional with bolts sticking out into your legs. cheap framing lumber that isnt suitable for outdoors and will probably rot within the year and concrete that weighs about 300 lbs so will be an expensive trip to the dump if you can lift it in the back of your truck.
and the shitty picture which makes it appear unstable as designed anyway.

are those concrete pavers? won't any side forces make the threaded rod just make the holes bigger and bigger?
and using concrete as a clamp...

You can already tell from the picture that the wood is already bowing out. This project is completely misguided and retarded but slightly better than a shipping container bunker so good job

Wait, it's just standing on the ground?
OP, use bigger tiles and bury it few inches into the ground, then concrete it.
Or just make the whole think out of concrete block.
The simplest possible diy project and you fucked it up. Please just disassemble that thing before the wood bows, use the pavers to keep the kindling underneath your brick bbq off the ground and then make the bench from video related.

OP here
Do you guys really think that bending will be such a big problem? The bench top is from five 5 x 5 x 200 cm lumber glued together. There is one meter of 'unsupplied' wood in the middle of the bench. 50 cm above the concrete blocks on each side.
I used M16 diameter steel rods that I drove through the concrete plates (they are 50 x 50 x 5 cm).
I agree on the point that the sticking out metal parts can cause problems.. I want to saw off the threaded rod that extends past the nuts and maybe cover them with some caps or exchange the simple nuts with capped nuts.
Thanks for the opinions, guys!

You know how I know you're a bullshitter?

What is this?! A bench for plants?!
You can stack some in pots on it and such...

some guy had a bad day and is shitting on you
wood is pretty stronk and if theres something supporting it underneath too, it'll probably be ok
