Hello there /diy/. I have this Bosch ASB 10.8V Li trimmer.

The problem with this is that the batteries have died inside.
The batteries model is:
•Samsung SDI INR 18650-13P 13000mAh 10A [Picture provided]
This seems to be the same battery according to the specs but it ends with 13Q instead of 13P

I was thinking about putting this batteries inside.
I have a few questions:
•Can I replace them with higher capacity battery if the voltage and amperes are the same
•Will the charger provided with this Bosch trimmer be able to charge these higher capacity battery
•How difficult is soldering batteries together
Thank you in advance.
You can use any capacity cell as long as it's 18650. Don't be tempted by cheap. Look to spend £5 a cell to get what it's labeled up as.
Soldering them is easy enough. Just rough the ends up with a bit of emery paper or light grit sand paper.
LG and Samsung are good.
The charger will just distribute current until the battery hits the charger cut off voltage so yes.

there are versions with soldering lugs
prevents overheating the cell

What if it has a different Amperes and voltage for instance 20A and 3.7V but it's still a 18650?

Generally speaking it's down to the brand but higher is better in this application. Most powertools are from 20A.

Both are lithium batteries.
The ones that you need, for flashlights etc, are Li-ion batterys
Li-po batteries are designed for higher output, safety, and faster loading time

that depends on the application entirely.
lipos are used for everything, not just powertools.
I doubt the lipo in my phone or mp3 player are made for high discharge.
the same is true for li-ion and even 18650 cells.
you dont want to use 18650 cells from a laptop in a powertool as they are not built for high currents, but rather high capacity and low self discharge and lifecycle.
when in doubt, look at the datasheet.

OHHHH NICE!
