Hi /diy/
I have trouble finding the reference of this screw, i think it is a english pitch, i count 18 thread for 1.75inch, diameter is 0.248 inch or 6.31mm, i looking for a seller reference so i can buy an other one.
thx a lot !
>>
>>1191282
take another picture with metric
>>
>>1191282
Took me some digging, but that's a number 14 wood screw. Units in inches.
>>
>>1191282

18 threads/1.75 inches / 2.54 cm/inch = 4 threads per cm or 400 threads per meter.

I don't think they don't make screws that long.

OD = 6.3 mm

a number 6 metric has 1 thread per mm or 10 per cm so that doesn't work either

the screw with 4 threads per mm is M1 so you should buy that. the diameter will be a bit small but you can buy spacers.

no wait. 4 per cm is 0.4 per mm which is M2 with a diamerter of uh it might be 2 mm which is not matching up with your 6.31

I will look into this. Wayne Lambright is my tinder pal and I will consult with him.

why did you post a pick with 20tpi?

>0.248
wow or like 1/4"

>>1191300

>>1191288

>>1191285

>>
>>1191327
You're right, my mistake.
Gotta not go off a MS Paint diagram in the future.
>>
>>1191327
I'm with this guy. Take it to Home Depot, Lowes, tractor supply, Grainger, or just someone who's not retarded.
>>
>>1191282
>diameter is 0.248
That's 1/4"
>>1191282
>i count 18 thread for 1.75inch
The screw is not that long
>>1191327
this is correct

It's a common 1/4" x 20 countersink flat-head machine screw
>>
>>1191282
1/4-20... but im4 beers into my saturday night. So it may also be a 1-11 bsp for all what its worth.
>>
this is what thread checkers are for
>>
you can verify that it's a 1/4 - 20 by screwing into the bottom of a camera, coz that's what tripods use as a standard.
>>
>>1191282
Just go to ACE and go to the screw section.

There are metric and Standard us/imperial Screws.

Put screws together ar threads to see if its a fit.
>>
It's an M8, I used about a million last month, I know what an M8 looks like.

AMA about M8

1/4" x 20 seems correct, thanks a lot guys !
>>
>>1191396
do your prefer JIS M8, DIN M8, or ISO M8?
>>
>>1191389
So much this. He needs to buy another, and they will have the same screw. Simply buy one while there.

chief you're looking at a half inch there. you count either the crests or the troughs, not both. so yes it's 1/4 20, which, yes, makes twenty crests and troughs per 1/2"
>>
>>1191396
when did they start making M8 with a 6.3mm diameter m8
>>
>>1192810
It's an 6.3mm diameter M8, got thousands of them.

>Shilling for ACE

Any hardware store will have that device for testing your screw to find out the thread pitch. The dumbass working there should be able to help you with that, as well as identify the head type, length, and material it's made of. That's all you need to know.
>>
>>1193252
That will be me, I have an M8 one standing by for screw anon
>>
Just try to screw it into some nuts you know the specs of.
>>
You can see that it's a (if US) Coarse (UNC) just use a caliper to measure it's diameter since sizes has a clear gap between them, making it easy to distinguish it's size
