I have a (hardy) fuchsia in my garden that's doing really well and I'd quite like to make it spread out a bit so it forms multiple plants and I was wondering the best way to do this.
I know with some plants it's as simple as pinning a stem under the ground slightly and it'll put down roots and spawn a whole new one from there but would that work with fuchsias or not?
I'd rather not mess around with cuttings etc as I don't really have the space for such things and surely these plants actually propogate in the wild so it must be possible.

Take cutting dip in root hormone powder

Fuck you

I don't have anywhere to grow them when they are young. Unless they'd grow outside?
Also I am genuinely interested in how they propagate in the wild because they never seem to make seeds or suchlike.

No, all plants grow up in tiny homes before they are sent off to live in the wild.

>>what fuck'in stupid people there are...

Obviously I don't think that. My only question is do they spread via roots - as some plants do or are they seed based as I've never noticed it producing seeds.
In the wild you don't have people going around taking cuttings and delicately planting them in green houses and cold frames.

Just snip, dip in hormone powder, plant where you want them.
Hormone powder will increase the chance of rooting from like 20% to 60%.
No need to greenhouse them.
Just be sure they get LOTS of water for the first month or 2.

berries, and they're edible. If that's never happened, you may try getting other fuchsia plants for pollination.
