Looks good, you probably want to get a non dark stain/paint for your furniture.

if it's cheap Ikea furniture then just sand and re-stain it to a mahogany or cherry shade.
You generally want to match your room to the color of the floors and using black gives a very dark dim feel to your living room unless you have white floors or light stained wood.

Also can I see that rooster painting?
